    Can Acephate be mixed with Cypermethrin?
    A

     Acephate 97UP Insecticide should not be mixed with cypermethrin products or with any other insecticides.  Use one or the other.  Mixing products will change their formulations and cause them not to work as intended.

    Are pecans safe to eat when acephate has been used?
    My tree has tent catapillars

    The Acephate is not specifically labeled as safe to use on Pecans for tent caterpillars, however other nut trees are on the label and it states you cannot harvest any of it for a year after Acephate 97 has been applied. You could use something like Fertilome Triple Action to spray your tree with for tent caterpillars and it can be used right up to day of harvest.

    How much Acephate 97UP in a two gallon sprayer for rhody weevils?

    You did not state specifically what plant you are trying to eliminate the weevils from, however in all areas of the Acephate 97UP Product Label, it states to use a rate of 12oz per acre for weevil eliminateion. This will come down to roughly 0.27 oz per 1000 sq/ft in no less than 2 gallons of water.

    What is the Acephate 97UP Insecticide mixing ratio for use on centipede grass, and around green giant arbor vitae trees?

    Per the Acephate 97UP Insecticide product label you would use 0.75 oz per 5 gallons of water.  Apply 1 gallon of mix to each mound area by sprinkling the mound until it is wet and treat a four foot diameter circle around the mound.

    How soon after application can Acepehate 97UP be watered in?
    A

    Acephate 97UP is a water soluble insecticide that has to be mixed with water.  it is a systemic that will be readily absorbed by the plant roots and foliage.  Once you have applied the product there is no need to water it in.  

    We recommend reviewing the product label for complete mixing and application instructions.

    Since I am spraying Acephate 97UP on orchids for thrips, do I use 1/2 teaspoon or 1 teaspoon per gallon of water?
    Can I spray every week for three weeks without doing damage to the plants or should I spray three times every other week?

    Per the product label for Acephate 97UP, you must wait at least 14 days between applications. The rate for orchids is 8 oz per 100 gallons of water, so that breaks down to 0.48 tsp per 1 gallon of water, so you should stay at the rate you are using.

    Can Acephate 97 be used for root drench in hydroponics?
    Trying to kill root aphids in rockwool. Looking for the proper application and how many grams of acephate 97 per gallon of water I should use.

    Acephate 97UP Insecticide is labeled for root aphids, however it is not labeled for root drench.   EverGreen Crop Protection EC 60-6 can be used in hydroponically grown ornamentals and vegetables as a water system treatment.

    How much per gallon usage rate for soil drench? On marijuana plants

    Acephate 97UP Insecticide is not labeled to be used on marijuana so we cannot comment if anyone has done so previously nor can be provided rates.  It is labeled to be used on tobacco as directed on the product label.   We recommend that you contact the manufacturer (United Phosphorous) at 800.438.6071 for further information.

    Can I use Acephate 97UP as a soil drench for control of spider mites on 25' tall itallian cypress?
    Is this effective and if so I need to know the application for such?

    Acephate 97UP Insecticide is not labeled to treat for spider mites so would not be recommended.  We are unaware of any systemic product that is labeled for use for spider mite control. Instead we would recommend a foliage spray product such as Talstar P, which is labeled for use on ornamental plants and is also labeled for spider mites.

    What is the mix ratio of Acephate 97UP to make a paste?
    I need to put it around base of Crape Myrtle trees for Aphids, I want it to absorbed into the Crape Myrtle trees to wipe out the aphids. A PASTE to apply, so tree will absorb the most. What is the mix ratio per Acephate and I assume water or a type of liquid? Thanks!

    To make a paint-on-slurry paste of Acephate 97UP Insecticide, you need to mix 2 to 3 level teaspoons per 1 tablespoon of water. Per the product label: Remember to remove the loose bark from the trunk areas to be treated. Completely paint a band twice its diameter. Make application to trunks within a zone, 6 to 12 inches above the ground and below the point where branching begins. For multi-trunk plants, be certain to treat all trunks. For either single or multi-trunk plants, make application as low as possible within the specified treatment zone.

    Acephate 97UP Insecticide should be used when the leafminers appear. You will repeat every 14 days as needed. The label also states that the product should not be sprayed 3 times in a tree or shrubs growing season. You will use 0.25 lbs per 100 gallons of water.

    Is Acephate 97UP effective for controlling pine tip moths?
    How much of this product (per gallon of water) should I use in my 2-gallon sprayer to control pine tip moths on my Pinon pines and Austrian pines? And if I apply it as a soil drench rather than direct spray to treat those same pine tip moths, what should that concentration be (amount per gallon of water, or per inch of trunk diameter, etc.)? Thank you for your help.

    Acephate 75UP Insecticide can be used on ornamental trees and shrubs to control Nantucket Pine Tip Moth Larvae. Per page 19 of the product label, apply .75 lb (12 oz.) per 100 gallons of water as a full coverage spray at 14 day intervals as necessary to maintain control. Do not apply more often than 3 times in a growing season to trees and shrubs. This rate would be roughly 0.27 oz. per 1,000 square feet in at least 2 gallons of water.

    Acephate 75UP does not have labeling for soil drench for pine tip moth larvae, however we do sell other products that are. Adonis 2F would be a great choice for soil drench for this pest in Spring. You will use Adonis 2F at a rate of 0.1 - 0.2 oz. per inch of trunk diameter at breast height for soil drench. You should use no less than 10 gallons of water per 1,000 square feet when drenching, apply directly to the root area, and remove plastic or any other barrier that would stop the solution from reaching the root zone.

    For either application, it is recommend to speak to your local County Cooperative Extension office for recommendations on the best timing to treat for this pest in your area.

    Will Acephate 97UP penetrate the soil to kill earthworms?

    Neither Acephate 97UP Insecticide nor any other products are labeled to eliminate earthworms since these are largely beneficial creatures. To treat moles, we recommend Talpirid Mole Bait, traps, or gassers. We outline each of these options in our Mole Treatment Guide here. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Will Acephate 97UP Insecticide kill spiders in our white pine and Norway spruce Christmas trees?

    While Acephate 97UP Insecticide is labeled to control many pests, spiders are not among them. We would suggest a more general insecticide such as Onslaught Insecticide for spiders and other pests on ornamentals.
