    Q
How do you get Advion Cockroach Gel Bait to stick in place?
How do you get it to stick in place? I get small streams out, but they will not stay in place under cabinet edges.Would not stick to the tape.
    A

When using Advion Cockroach Gel Baitit is recommended to do small spots of bait per the instructions below.  It is not recommended to place lines of the product, only small dots about the size of a pencil eraser.  If you’re placing the gel on a porous surface, it’s recommended to place the bait on something non-porous like a piece of aluminum foil or tape to prevent the bait from drying out too quickly.

3 to 5 spots of gel bait per 10 linear feet for heavy infestations.

1 to 3 spots of gel bait per 10 linear feet for light to moderate infestations.

Advion Cockroach Gel should be applied to areas frequented by cockroaches such as between different elements of construction, between equipment and floors, openings leading into voids and hollow spaces in floors, walls, ceilings, equipment legs and bases, around plumbing pipes, doors and windows, and behind and under appliances, cabinets, sinks, closets, and any other equipment that cockroaches are typically known to hide. There is also a great video on the product page to show you how best to apply roach bait gel.

If you have seen multiple roaches, it certainly may be an indication of an infestation. Advion Cockroach Gel Bait is a great product for roach control. Q
Is your Advion Bait counterfeit or old?
Hi. I am comparing a new Advion tube to an old tube. I've read the tubes are no longer dated, however the newer tube I have is ever so slightly lighter in the all around color scheme. The code on the insert vs the code on the tube do not match, either. The insert reads: SCP 1484A-L1B 0414 4041019 The tube reads: SCP 1484A-L2B 0414 4093374 Is this normal or am I just being paranoid? Thanks in advance.
    A

Any Advion Cockroach Gel Bait that is purchased from our company will be fresh non counterfeit stock as we get it directly from the manufacturers supplier. You can actually call Syngenta themselves and they will advise to purchase through our company as they know we do not allow anything other than fresh correct stock to move through our warehouse. The counterfeit Advion that has circulated online was sold primarily on Amazon and other non reputable sites. The SCP number you are referring to has nothing to do with when the batch was produced. Those are codes for the labels themselves of when they were last updated or printed for the product. The old tubes of Advion had a specific release date shown. They now come with a code on the tube itself that will look along these lines: ABW9C29025. The first 3 letters will usually be "ABW" which can be ignored as this corresponds to the facility the batch was produced in. The next number is for the last digit of the year it was produced. For 2018 this would be ABW8 for example. To indicate the month it was produced, the letter after the year in the code would be in alphabetical order if January = A, February = B. So a Lot of ABW8B would be produced in February of 2018. Advion baits are good for 5 years if stored properly.

The color of each batch will vary slightly due to temperatures used during the manufacturing process and the inert ingredients and where they are derived. Should you find some with a wildly different color, you can always submit a photo to us for us to review and look into.

    Q
How can I check to see if the Advion Cockroach Gel Bait I purchased from Amazon is manufactured by Syngenta or if it is a knockoff/counterfeit brand? Who would I contact to confirm the authenticity of the product we purchased?
    A

We would recommend contacting the manufacturer or phone number on the package and providing them with the LOT number or Serial Number of the product. Syngenta can be reached at 866-796-4368 to confirm if this lot number belongs to them.

    Q
The ants are ignoring the Advion Roach Bait Gel traps, what can be done?
    A
Advion Roach Bait Gel is not labeled to eradicate ants. We do carry Advion Ant Bait Gel that will atrract the listed ants on the label that are currently attracted to a sweet-feeding bait. If they are foraging for a protein source, we highly recommend applying the Advance 375A granules in bait plate stations.

    Q
How long will the roaches be gone when using Advion Roach Bait gel?
    A

How long it takes to eliminate a roach infestation depends on how large the infestation is, how consistent and thorough you are being with treatments and what products you are using.  There is not a set time; it can take but it can take weeks or months even to get complete control. Advion Roach Bait gel is typically not used alone but in combination with other products. We would recommend one of our roach control kits. You can see the kits by clicking on the link here. We also have a great article for eliminating them that can offer some great advice; you can find it here.

    Q
Will Advion Roach Bait Gel work on Turkistan roaches?
We recently moved to an area of California that has been found to have Turkistan roaches (confirmed by an exterminator) Seems like the spray he using affects the other types of bugs, but not these.
    A

Advion Roach Bait Gel would not be the product that we would recommend for this particular pest issue. We would recommend Avert Dry Flowable Cockroach Bait. This formulation woould allow the product to work whether they eat it or just come in contact with the actual powder. When treating for any type of roaches we also recommend treating with an IGR like Gentrol, and an insecticide such as Temprid as well. Most roach infestations need more than one mode of action to get them under control.

    Q
Can I store Advion Cockroach Gel in a boiler room?
    A

Bait such as Advion Roach Bait Gel are best stored out of extreme heat to prevent the food ingredients from spoiling too quickly. You may lose some of the shelf life if the bait is kept close to high heat. In a temperate environment, we recommend using baits within one year of opening.
