    Q
They are multiplying!! It's been a month!
The German roaches we have are multiplying horribly!! Thing is, they eat the advion! And eat it so fast we apply it nightly!! We use plastic bottle caps. Put a generous amount on each cap and set about 40 of them out each night!! Not weekly or every 2 weeks...nightly!! Along with huge strips of poison in places. Everything is clean as can be in the morning. We know where they are nesting and are sure to put many bottle caps around this area along with long strips of poison. Its been a month. I'm NOT seeing many dead or sick ones. But now they are piling up in ugly piles on my ceiling (above the wall their nest is) like building new little nests!!! We've gone through 12 tubes of advian!! Am I just feeding them to multiply??? I wish I could afford to move...it's THAT bad!! Help!!
    A

German Roaches are difficult to get rid of in a couple of months even if they have been there for awhile or not. If they have been consuming the Advion for a month that is great especially with you seeing dead ones. You are feeding them to kill each other through sharing not feeding them to reproduce. They do this on their own. You can incorporate an insect growth regulator such as Gentrol to disrupt the reproductive cycle and an insecticide that will offer a residual control such as Temprid FX. Please alternate your bait every 90 days. The next one that I would suggest you use for the next 90 days (replacing every 2wks) is Maxfore FC Magnum. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Roaches for a successful eradication program.

    Q
How do I use Advion Cockroach Gel Bait?
    A

You should place Advion Cockroach Gel Bait indoors and outdoors as a crack and crevice treatment. We also recommend that you use an IGR (insect growth regulator) such as Gentrol Point Source Stations, for even more complete control of all life stages of cockroaches. This will help prevent the infestation from getting larger while you are eliminating it.

Advion Cockroach Gel Bait Application Instructions

    • For heavy infestations of cockroaches, apply 3 to 5 spots of ADVION Cockroach Gel Bait per 10 linear feet.
    • For light to moderate infestations of cockroaches, apply 1-3 spots of ADVION cockroach gel bait per 10 linear feet.
    • Each spot of ADVION gel bait should equal about 0.5 grams (approx. 1/4” diameter).
    • For all levels of cockroach infestations, when a bead of ADVION Cockroach Gel Bait is used, apply a small thin bead that is less than 1/8” wide and approximately 2 inches long.

Each 30 g tube yields approximately 60 bait placements. Each box of 4 x 30 g tubes yields approximately 240 placements.

See our Indoor Roach Control Guide for more examples of indoor placement.

    Q
How do you get Advion Cockroach Gel Bait to stick in place?
How do you get it to stick in place? I get small streams out, but they will not stay in place under cabinet edges.Would not stick to the tape.
    A

When using Advion Cockroach Gel Baitit is recommended to do small spots of bait per the instructions below.  It is not recommended to place lines of the product, only small dots about the size of a pencil eraser.  If you’re placing the gel on a porous surface, it’s recommended to place the bait on something non-porous like a piece of aluminum foil or tape to prevent the bait from drying out too quickly.

3 to 5 spots of gel bait per 10 linear feet for heavy infestations.

1 to 3 spots of gel bait per 10 linear feet for light to moderate infestations.

Advion Cockroach Gel should be applied to areas frequented by cockroaches such as between different elements of construction, between equipment and floors, openings leading into voids and hollow spaces in floors, walls, ceilings, equipment legs and bases, around plumbing pipes, doors and windows, and behind and under appliances, cabinets, sinks, closets, and any other equipment that cockroaches are typically known to hide. There is also a great video on the product page to show you how best to apply roach bait gel.

    Q
Does the Advion Roach Bait Gel attract cockroaches?
I put it all over my house, at the windows and doors. My main issue was in the kitchen, although I have seen a few here and there around the house. Am I going to bring new roaches to my house?
    A

Yes, cockroaches are attracted to Advion Roach Bait Gel when they cross paths with where it has been applied, but it will not attracts new roaches that were not already in your home. The product works quickly and efficiently if used properly as the label directs. Gel baits can dry out after two weeks or so, so it does need to be refreshed every couple of weeks.

  • Asked by Atara

    Q
Should I kill roaches that I continue to see after applying Advion Cockroach Gel Bait or leave them alone to transfer the active ingredient throughout the colony?
    A

The active ingedient in Advion Cockroach Gel Bait is a non repellent that is slow acting. This allows roaches to feed on the bait, take bait back to the colony and transfer to other roaches. We would recommend not killing or disturbing roaches and allow them to continue their normal activity to ensure the bait is taken bait to colony and transfered. Any dead roaches can be removed.

  • Asked by Anonymous from Spring Hill, Fl

    Q
Can Advion Cockroach Gel Bait be used outdoors?
The product information says that it can be used indoors and outdoors. I want to apply Advion gel bait outdoors around my home. Where specifically should I apply the product for maximum effect?
    A

Per the label: Advion Cockroach Gel Bait may also be applied as a spot or thin bead to pest entry sites such as along windows, doors, between construction elements, sewer areas, adjacent trees which harbor cockroaches, along walls, garbage holding areas, or suitable placement site acting as a cockroach harborage. Place baits in such a way as to reduce the potential of subsequent human contact. Inspect Advion Cockroach Gel Bait placements periodically and apply fresh bait as needed. A thorough inspection around a structure may reveal areas where cockroaches are gaining access. Attempts should be made to remove the access.

    Q
The ants are ignoring the Advion Roach Bait Gel traps, what can be done?
    A
Advion Roach Bait Gel is not labeled to eradicate ants. We do carry Advion Ant Bait Gel that will atrract the listed ants on the label that are currently attracted to a sweet-feeding bait. If they are foraging for a protein source, we highly recommend applying the Advance 375A granules in bait plate stations.
