    Q
Why does my Advion roach bait gel not have the REL date??
I bought 2 packs of Advion and I noticed that one has an REL date and the other package doesn't. I was wondering if this is normal or if it's possible that one pack is the real Advion and the other is fake.
    A

The manufacturer of Advion Cockroach Gel Bait has recently changed how they mark the product with the release date.  Per the manufacturer it does have a 5 year shelf life from this date.

    Q
What happens if old Advion Cockroach Gel Bait is not removed?
I applied Advion Roach Gel Bait two week ago with two results and I've read that you have to remove old gel before applying new gel. I understand the need to remove the old gel so that the roaches will be attracted to the fresh one, but if I don't intend to re-apply and I don't remove the old gel, will it cause problems?
    A

The only real con to leaving old Advion Cockroach Gel Bait in place is that it can become very hard to remove from the surface it was applied to.

    Q
Can I add a bit of water to re-hydrate dried Advion Cockroach Gel Bait?

Advion Roach Bait Gel should be applied once every two weeks (cleaning up old bait placements prior to new applications) to keep the roaches attracted to the product. Adding water to the roach bait gel is not necassary and may reduce the efficacy.

    Q
Will Advion Roach Bait Gel also kill crickets?
    A

Advion Roach Bait Gel will not kill crickets as it is only labeled for roaches. The most effective means of controlling crickets is by applying baits such as InTice or Niban. These products will kill crickets and will keep more from coming into the treated areas. For more information on eliminating crickets, please check out our Cricket Control Article.

    Q
    Please help me out..
I've lived in my apartment for 8 years and never seen a cockroach here until yesterday I found 1 dead cockroach next to my sliding door (that opens up to balcony). Not sure if this roach just got in from outside. Should I use this bait or just wait to see if I find more (really hoping not). I don't want to attract more roaches with this bait if it was just that one.
    A
Since you have only seen one and it was right inside the door, it is a strong possiblity that it did come in from outside. We would recommend to put up a barrier. You can use Phantom aerosol. Apply this product indoors and out along cracks, crevices and entry points.

  • Asked by Jennifer from United States

    Q
Will the 4 pack Advion Roach bait kill Carpenter ants, or do I need something else?
    A

Advion Roach bait will not kill Carpenter ants. Phantom would be a great product to use.  Pests can't even detect Phantom, so they walk right over it and then spread it to other insects hidden behind walls or in their home colony, killing every other pest they come in contact with. If you know where the ant nest is, then you can spray it directly. Be sure to keep the spray away from your bait. Spray low bait high.

  • Asked by Michele from Canyon Country, Ca
    05/31/2016
    Q
I have seen approximately 6 roaches within a 45 day period. Should I use Advion or will I be attracting more?
Have seen 3 different types and 4 different sizes. 2 in kitchen, 1 in garage, 2 in family room and 1 in bathroom. First one was mid April, then the next 5 have been within a 12 day period. Saw 3 last year about same time of year.
    A

The fact that you have seen different stages of the lif cycle, we recommend still baiting. We would also recommend to incorporate an IGR like Gentrol to breakdown the reproductive cycle.

    Q
Can Advion Roach Bait Gel be use vertically on a wall?
    A

Advion Roach Bait Gel and other baits are best applied in cracks and crevices where roaches are hiding or traveling. So, applying in corners or at molding, door hinges, or behind furniture or frames will be much more effective than trying to apply bait in the middle of a wall. You can view a great video on how to use roach baits on the product page by scrolling down into the details of the product information.

    Q
Can I use Advion Roach Bait Gel and glue boards at the same time to kill cockroaches?
    A

Yes, a roach bait gel like Advion can be applied if you are also using glue boards.  We normally recommend that you use an insecticide spray along with an insect growth regulator (IGR) as well for roaches.  You may want to take a look at our Roach Control Kits, which offer a combination of all of these products.  You may also want to look over our Roach Control Guide for more information on treating and preventing roaches.
