Product Overview

Amdro Kills Ants bait stations are convenient, low-profile, and easy to use. Simply place them anywhere you see ants, such as under sinks, inside cabinets or behind appliances. They can also be placed outside. The bait will attract scout ants, who will carry it back to the ant colony where they will share it with the other ants. At that point, the ant colony will stop reproducing and begin to die. For safety reasons, place bait stations where they are not accessible to children and pets. Amdro Kills Ants bait stations will kill acrobat, big headed, ghost, crazy, white-footed, little black, argentine, odorous house, black carpenter, pavement, and cornfield ants (will not kill fire ants).

    Patience is the main ingredient

    By Drjg on 12/03/2014

Using Hydramethylnon requires you to wait for the bait to be taken back to the nest where the bait is fed to the larvae where they secrete a pre-digested liquid, that is fed by the worker ants to the rest of the colony and queen. The Hydramethylnon then kills the ants slowly by destroying their ability to utilize energy. They initially become lethargic and die in 3-4 days. The only drawback, if there are any ants that have not eaten the larvae vomit, especially the queen, they will start another colony.

Q
Can we store any unused Amdro Kills Ants Bait Stations in the garage?

Instructions says that it is ready to be used as is, but we used only 4 out 8. Is it safe to keep remaining ones in the home and use them later?

A

According to the manufacturer, Amdro Kills Ants Bait Stations (4 pack) can last up to two years on the shelf as long as they're stored in a cool dry place. We wouldn't recommend storing them in the garage because the temperatures can change and if there's ever any moisture in the garage, that could reduce the efficacy of the product. For continuous control, replace indoor stations after three months and outdoor stations after six weeks.
