The Summit Mosquito Bits are a larvicide designed for being applied directly to standing water areas. This is not for applying to the soil or directly to plants as that would not allow the product to work. This product would be need to be used in areas of standing water to keep larvae from hatching/emerging such as in bird baths, drainage ditches, pools, ponds, etc. If the plants around the patio are all ornamental (no edible vegetation) you could spray them down with a product like Bifen I/T for mosquito and general insect control. If you have edibles, the edible vegetation would need to be sprayed with a product safe for that use and consumption, which would be something like Sevin Concentrate or Essentria All Purpose.
