Product Overview

Arsenal Herbicide is a low-volume vegetation management herbicide that controls a broad spectrum of brush species and prevents re-sprouting. It is an aqueous solution for controlling undesirable vegetation. It addresses problematic plants such as cogon grass, honeysuckle, Japanese bamboo, and others.  This product is swiftly absorbed through emergent leaves and stems after its first application, causing treated plants to stop developing. Arsenal herbicde can be applied to the cut surface of the stump or cuts of target woody vegetation.  It becomes rainfast in one hour after treatment. Mix it with water and a surfactant, then apply it as a spray solution.  See label for complete application instructions.  Ideal for use on specific aquatic sites, forestry sites, pastures, rangeland, and non-agricultural lands.

*ARSENAL HERBICIDE IS NOT FOR USE ON RESIDENTIAL LAWNS*

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Can Arsenal herbicide be used on pasture and rangeland?
    • Yes, Arsenal can be used for spot treatment on grass pasture and rangeland, and in non-cropland areas including areas that may be grazed or cut for hay.
  •  What vegetation does Arsenal control?
    • Arsenal will control most annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds in addition to many brush and vine species. Arsenal will provide residual control of labeled weeds which germinate in the treated areas.
  • How should Arsenal be applied on these lands?
    • For the control of undesirable weeds in pasture and rangeland, Arsenal may be applied as a spot treatment at a rate of 2 to 48 fluid ounces of product per treated acre, using ground application methods as described on the label. Spot applications to grass pasture and rangeland may not exceed more than one tenth of the area to be grazed or cut for hay. DO NOT apply more than 48 fluid ounces per acre per year. See appropriate sections of the label for specific use directions
  • When should I apply Arsenal?
    • Arsenal should only be applied as a spot or limited broadcast application, where no more than one tenth of the available area to be grazed or cut for hay is treated. When applied to desirable forage grasses, Arsenal will cause severe injury, growth reduction and grass mortality. Care should be taken to only apply Arsenal where this type of forage grass injury can be tolerated. The use of low volume, directed applications, targeting the undesirable vegetation can minimize the impact on desirable forage grasses. See appropriate sections of the label for specific use directions for the desired vegetation control. This product may be applied either preemergence or postemergence to the weeds; however, postemergence application is the method of choice in most situations, particularly for perennial species. For maximum activity, weeds should be growing vigorously at the time of postemergence application and the spray solution should include a surfactant. (See Adjuvant Section of label for specific recommendations).
  • Are there grazing or haying restrictions with Arsenal?
    • There are no grazing restrictions with Arsenal. Do not cut forage grass for hay until seven days after Arsenal treatment

PRECAUTIONS

Untreated desirable plants can be affected by root uptake of Arsenal herbicide from treated soil. Injury or loss of desirable plants may result if Arsenal is applied on or near desirable plants, on areas where the roots extend, or in locations where the treated soil may be washed or moved into contact with their roots. When making application along shorelines where desirable plants may be present, use caution to avoid spray contact with their foliage or spray application to the soil which they are rooted. Shoreline plants that have roots which extend into the water in an area where Arsenal has been applied generally will not be adversely affected by uptake of herbicide from the water.

If treated vegetation is to be removed from the application site, DO NOTuse the vegetative matter as mulch or compost on or around desirable species.
