At night, an animal is digging around newly install in-ground sprinklers. Is there a way stop this?

The holes are around 3 - 4 inches in diameter and and 3 - 4 inches deep. I didn't have this problem before the installation of the sprinkler system. The digging is isolated to where the soil was disturbed during the installation of the irrigation system.

Answer:

There may indeed be a way to stop the digging but first you need to identify the animal in question. You may need to make a late night excursion outside with a flashlight and try to catch the culprit in action. You can also call in a professional company for a free estimate and they may be able to identify the animal by the type of damage it is leaving behind.
