    Great Japanese Beetle trap

    By Sam on 07/06/2010

This product works, nuff said. Installed three around my property and had to empty them after only two weeks. Some of the Beetles still get to my roses, but I can live with that. At least I have blooms to enjoy. Before using the traps, the blooms were gone as soon as they started to open. I recommend this product to rose bush owners.

    Beetle Bagger

    By Norma on 07/18/2010

I don't care where the bugs come from - when they reach my yard they will be dead. Within an hour I had to change the bags, as the day progressed it took longer. Now once a day. I figure there are thousands or more bugs that will not breed and kill my garden and flowers next year. I told the ladies I exercise with that next year I expect a thank-you card from them, since they won't have as many beetles "bugging" then next year. Just to be on the safe side, I will be ordering more kits next year!

My Beetle Bagger works!!!!!!! My roses are blooming beautifully with no beetles. It is so easy to use. My daughter has one too and it keeps the beetles out of her vegetable garden.

Q
Can the Beetle Bagger Japanese Beetle Trap be used in the house, specifically the kitchen?
A
No, you would not want to place the Beetle Bagger Japanese Beetle Trap Kit inside your home.  The lure, or bait that is added to the trap that attracts the beetles, does have an odor, so you would not want the smell in your home.  Also, you would not want to place the trap in your home because you would attract beetles inside your home.

Q
What to do with the lure on the Beetle Bagger Japanese Beetle Trap - Kit?

It is not clear from the small diagram of the box edge what to do with the lure. I took it out of the wrapper and inserted it in the hole in the cardboard at the top but wondered if there is anything further to do, like punch holes in top of plastic lure container? no beetles seem to be attracted after one day.

A

The Beetle Bagger Japanese Beetle Trap - Kit instructions state: Peel foil covering off of the dual lure package, as marked on the package.  Do not remove contents (lures).  Position the dual lure plastic package so that the open (exposed) side faces inward toward the trap.  Insert one edge of the lure package in one vane slot, then tip upwater to insect into the opposite vane slot.

Q
How early do you put up the Beetle Baggers?

Last year was the first year I have ever seen them on my property. They did some nasty damage. I don't want to see that happen again this year. So, I want to make sure I get the jump on them.

A
Each region of the country will differ on when the best time to use the traps.  To figure out when the best time is in your region you should contact your local cooperative extension office.  They have all of the information for your local pests and the best time to start treating for them.
