Bifen XTS is labeled for carpenter ants. Bifen XTS will eliminate carpenter ants that come into contact with treated surfaces. Termidor SC is the more popular choice for carpenter ant control because it is non-repellent, has a delayed reaction kill and has a transfer effect. This means that the ants cannot detect that an area has been sprayed and cannot avoid the treated area, as they walk over the area they pick small particles of Termidor SC up on their body and inadvertently carry back to the colony spreading it to other ants.
Bifen IT is not labeled for grubs. We do carry grub control products. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Grubs for information on a successful program.
Yes, Bifen IT is labeled for grasshoppers. The mixing ratio is 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water.
A better option would be to use Bifen Granules in your lawn. This will last 2-3 months in the lawn around your home. This will be watered in to activate the product.
Bifen IT is labeled to treat for termites and lasts for about 5 years in the ground and works as a repellent, killing only those insects that come into contact with the treated area. If you are dealing with subterranean termites, you want to use a product that has a "transfer-kill" effect. Termidor SC or Taurus SC are great products to use to treat termites and prevent them. Termidor Foam can be used for active infestations only. All of the products are non-repellents and transfer back to the colony. Please see our Termite Control Page.
We would suggest rotating with Transport Mikron or Permethrin SFR 36.8% for general pest control applications. Typically you can rotate about every year or if you notice a decrease in effectiveness you can rotate sooner.
Yes, Bifen IT can be used for chiggers.
Shaking the Bifen IT prior to mixing is not necessary unless the product has sat for a long period of time and you can see some separation or settling of the ingredients. If so, you can shake it until it goes back into emulsion and then use it.
You can also mix in Nyguard Igr which will prevent the larvae from maturing into reproducing adults. Nyguard IGR can also cause sterility and possible death in adult mosquitos.
Bifen IT is labeled to use for bed bugs (not for residential areas), however we advise following our Bed Bug Guide that provides information on which items to use and where to apply them. Our Bed Bug Kits provide the best and most economical combination of products recommended for treating for bed bugs in your home.
