Bifen IT should be applied once monthly to the lawn or the Bifen L/P Granules once every 2-4 months as directed. Either formulation can be used as long as appropriate rates are used.
Typically, you do not need to water in Bifen IT. As long as your treated area has had time to dry, watering the area will not decrease the effectiveness.
Bifen IT is safe to use around livestock premises as long as the animals are NOT grazing in the treated areas. After the application, you need to wait until the area is completely dry before letting the animals back onto the treated areas.
Bifen IT can be used as long as animals are out of the area during treatment until dry. Please be sure to refer to the product label for complete instructions on application.
Yes, Bifen IT would work to treat flies. It dries clear and is odorless. You can apply the mixed solution to lawns, trees, shrubs, and indoors. It has a long lasting residual. You will need to retreat during the fly season once every 30 days.
It will depend on what you are applying it for. For instance, if you are trying to control insects that walk on the blades of grass or around the thatch layer, if you use too much water, you could push all of the product below the thatch and those insects may not be affected by the application. If you are targeting insects that are below the thatch such as chinch bugs, more water can help you get the water where you need it to be. Please refer to the Bifen IT product label for complete instructions on your target pest.
Bifen I/T is used in poultry housing and facilities and as long as the chickens are removed from the area while you treat. You should still be able to use it in their grazing areas with no issue since they are not actually feeding on the grass/potential seeds place out but on the insects in that area after everything has dried. If you had any concerns with the Bifen I/T usage, another option that is safe to use in grazing areas is Essentria All Purpose. You still have to remove the chickens during the application but once dry is safe to return just like the Bifen IT. Neither product should have any effect on their eggs at all as long as you are following usage instructions.
There really are no temperature restrictions for applying Bifen IT. It can be applied at any time of day as long as you are not expecting any rain for at least 24 hours.
