Yes, Bifen IT will help control carpenter bees when it is applied to surfaces where the carpenter bees land. We also recommend dusting the carpenter bee holes with an insecticide dust such as Tempo Dust to help kill any larva inside. Do not plug the holes for at least 30 days after dusting to prevent the developing larva from drilling a new hole to exit.
Bifen IT is applied at the rate of 1 oz. per gallon of water for mosquitoes. Keep in mind that it is not a contact kill. How long it takes to see results will depend on a number of factors such as the severity of the infestation you are dealing with. It can take anywhere from several hours to even a couple of days. You do have the option to mix Bifen with a product like ExciteR for a quicker knockdown.
Yes, Bifen IT is labeled for bed bugs. You will use 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water.
We would also recommend using an IGR (insect growth regulator), such as Gentrol. You will use this every two weeks until you do not see any activity for 30 days. This will stop the bed bugs from reproducing. You will use 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Bifen I/T is not safe for use on or around any edible vegetation. Bifen is also only used at 1 (ONE) ounce per gallon of water and should never be used at a rate higher than this for multiple reasons. If you need to treat a fire ant mount around edible plants such as grapes, you can either use boiling water to drench the mound directly and kill them on contact, or go with a product like Sevin Insecticide which is for controlling insects in garden areas.
Yes, you can mix an insecticide like BIfen IT and a fungicide like Honor Guard PPZ together in the same tank as long as niether product label prohibits such mixtures. Be sure always to follow the more restrictive product label and to plan your dilution rates correctly for each product in the volume of water you are using. We suggest a small jar test before mixing a large amount of products together for the first time.
Bifen IT is labeled for millipedes and will kill them when used according to the Bifen IT product label. Bifen I/T is one of our most popular products for mosquito control. Bifen XTS is basically the same product, just in a higher concentration, and oil-based instead of water-based. Either sprayer or mister application would be effective with either product as long as the application is thorough. Oil-based products such as Bifen XTS can stain some surfaces. This is not usually a concern in most areas outside, but you should use caution when treating around the siding of a home. Most oil-based products such as Bifen XTS do have a "chemical" odor but it is not especially strong.
Do not spray any bifenthrin product in a way that would contact the pond with direct spray, drift, or runoff.
Mosquitoes lay their eggs in standing water, so if there are any areas of standing water where you are treating, those should be treated as well with Altosid Pro-G Mosquito Larvicide if you prefer not to use BTI Mosquito Dunks.
