    What is a good general insecticide for indoor extermination?
    A

    Is Bifen IT safe to use around baseboards in a bedroom?
    They are coming up between the carpet and the baseboard in the bedroom. We have recently used Bifen granules outside and sprayed the walls and ground at the wall with Bifen IT. Now, I have found a few in the closet. They do fly. We have air-conditioning and the carpet is dry.

    Will Bifen IT kill my grass?
    I saw a reviewed on another site who claimed this killed their grass? What happens if I don't dilute Bifen IT enough?

    Bifen IT is safe for ornamentals and for turf grasses, when used at the label rates.  Apply at 1 oz per 1,000 sqft for most insects with a minimum of .5 gallons per 1,000 sqft.

    Will Bifen IT kill bed bugs?
    Will Bifen IT kill and eliminate bed bugs and their eggs?
    A

    Bifen I/T woud not be recommended for controlling bedbugs at all. 

    If bedbugs have been found in the home you will want to follow our detailed bedbug guide which will take you through each step necessary to completely eliminate the population. As you go through the guide linked below you will see the non chemical steps (such as washing and drying clothes and linens) as well as chemical steps including where and how to use each product. Our Bed Bug kits are the best route to make sure you are using the best products on the market and without breaking the bank. Each kit is designed to treat a different size home or number of rooms, so you can choose the one best suited to the areas you have effected by the pest problem. The kits come with all the products need to do a complete treatment in all the places bed bugs can hide and enough product to complete roughly 4 repeat applications. Since every home and infestation is different you will want to do diligent and meticulous treatments with the products every 7-14 days until you can go 30 days in a row with no signs of live bed bugs and no new bites on the occupants of the home.     How much Bifen IT would I use in my 4 gallon sprayer?

    For most pests, you will use 1 oz. of Bifen IT per gallon of water, so you would need 4 oz. for your 4 gallon sprayer.  Please see the product label for complete application instructions.

    What are the effects of Bifen IT on pollinators, and butterflies?
    A

    Bifen IT is not labeled for beneficial insects like butterflies.  However, it is not really selective so it has the potential to kill them if they come in contact with a treated area.  To avoid contacting beneficial insects, apply in the early morning or late evening when they are less active in the area.  We would also recommend avoiding application to blooms to limit contact.  A better option would be to use Mavrik Perimeter. There is no lingering odor or visible residue, and when dry, it is non toxic and non repellent to honey bees.  We would still recommned you apply in the early morning or late evening when they are less active in the area

    Are Nyguard and Bifen IT safe for house plants?
    If so how should I apply for fungus gnats
    A

    Bifen IT is safe on house plants on the foliage.  Nyguard is not labeled for this use.  For fungus gnats you would be using as a soil drench to treat.  The other option is to allow the soil to dry out completely as this will kill any larvae in the soil.

    Can you spray Bifen IT directly on anthills?
    There are some ant hills in our backyard and I was wondering if you should spray bifen on those? And if you should then exactly how and how much? I wouldn't want to just cause them to scatter or something. Thanks

    Can livestock graze after Bifen IT is applied?
    We have a tick and ant problem this year and I was wanting to apply this to our field but we have a horse and cow and didn't know if this would be safe for them to graze on afterwards. I've done some research and can't find the answer.

    Bifen IT cannot be used in animal grazing pastures.  Essentria All Purpose Insecticide Concentrate can be used in animal grazing pastures for ant and tick control.

    How do you apply for mole crickets?
    A
    When applying Bifen IT for mole crickets you should use 1oz per gallon of water. Per the product label:

    Mole Cricket adults: Since the preferred grass areas are subject to constant invasion in early spring by the active adult stage, it can be difficult to maintain control of adult mole crickets. It is ideal to treat the areas as late in the day as possible and water immediately after application with up to 0.5 inches of water. To ensure maximum contact when soil is dry, it is necessary to irrigate prior to treatment to bring the adult mole crickets closer to the soil surface. To obtain optimal control of potential nymphal populations, the grass areas preferred by adult mole crickets should be treated immediately prior to the peak hatch stage. 

    Mole Cricket nymphs: Treat grass areas that are preferred by adult mole crickets in the spring just before peak egg hatch. Young nymphs are more vulnerable to insecticidal treatment at this stage because they are close to the soil surface where the insecticide is most concentrated and thereby providing the most efficient control. For larger more damaging nymphal stages later in the year, it may be necessary to use higher application rates more frequently. It is ideal to treat the areas as late in the day as possible and water immediately after application with up to 0.5 inches of water. To ensure maximum contact when soil is dry, it is necessary to irrigate prior to treatment to bring the adult mole crickets closer to the soil surface.

    There is no specific or ideal time of the day for spraying Bifen IT.  Some people opt to spray outdoors in the early morning, when there is a lessor amount of insect activity.  You can refer to the product label for complete application instructions, and use as directed.

    Will Bifen I/T kill Bermuda Stunt Mites? What is the dilution rate recommended?
    We have hybrid bermuda grass in our yard. We live in Texas and have had an extremely wet month, over 10" of rain in 3 weeks. Went to the county extension agent with our problems. Turns out we have an issue with fungus( leaf spot) as well as Bermuda Stunt Mites. HELP !!!! The rain is now gone, it is hot and excessively humid now, 90+ with heat indexes of 100. What do you recomend?

    Bifen IT is not labeled for Bermuda mites (eriophyid mite) but we would advise to consider a product like Triple Crown T&O Insecticide.

    Triple Crown T & O Insecticide is specifically labeled for the Eriophyid Mite and applied at 7.5 fl oz per 100 gallons of water (0.07 fl oz per gallon of water). Per the MITES footnote on page 5 of the product label, to ensure optimal control of eriophyid mites, apply in combination with the labeled application rate of a surfactant. A second application, five to seven days after the first, may be necessary to achieve acceptable control

    What is the time required after spraying Bifen IT to use fruit?
    How long must I wait for the toxicity to disappear to eat the fruit?
    A

    Bifen IT should not be applied to any edible vegetation. You should not apply this product on a windy day or where wind drift may be a possibility if fruit trees or vegetables are nearby.  Any treated vegetables or fruit should be discarded. You should not consume anything in the area treated for one full growing season.

    Does Bifen IT kill stink bugs?
    I want to spray the exterior of my home to stop the stink bugs.

    Yes, Bifen IT is labeled to control stinkbugs. The rate is 1 oz per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft monthly to listed exterior areas and quarterly to interior crevices. Please refer to the product label for full application instructions.     I want the same roach bait gel that my pest control guy used?
    My old pest control guy sprayed, but he also placed gel inside the cabinets where the pipes would go into the wall in the kitchen and the bathrooms. Do you have a gel for this? Can I use the granules successfully?

    How often do I need to treat my yard with Bifen IT?
    If I have an acre of land how much do I need?

    Unfortunately you did not mention what pest you are trying to treat in your yard so we can not be very specific. The Bifen IT label does say that you can repeat applications as often as every 7 days outdoors but most customers do not repeat applications more than once a month for most pests. Again the usage rate of Bifen IT will vary greatly depending on what type of pest your are trying to control. The Bifen IT product label recommends 0.25-1.0 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft for most pests outdoors. You can find the usage rate tables starting on page 12 of the product label.

    Is Bifen IT recommended for springtails? If not, which product is best for this pest?
    Spring tails mostly appear around baseboards. Home is on a slab. Would Delta dust be more effective?
    A
    Spring tails can be tough to eliminate because they reproduce very quickly. In almost every case where people have spring tails they also have a moisture problem such as a leaking or sweating pipe, poor ventilation in their crawl space, lots of wet mulch right up next to their house, etc. You must locate and correct the moisture problem to get rid of the spring tails, insecticides alone will not do the job. We do carry Bifen L/P granules and Bifen IT liquid, both of which can help you to reduce the numbers of springtails.

    Can Bifen IT be used to control an infestation of small grasshoppers in fescue grass?

    Absolutely. Bifen IT can be used on just about any type of grass as long as the grass will not be used as animal feed later.
