Bifen I/T is our most popular choice for mosquito control. The Bifen XTS is the same product, just in a higher concentration. For mosquito control you do not need the higher concentration, it is not necessary. Bifen I/T would also be a better solution then permethrin because permethrin breaks down quicker in sunlight and the Bifen I/T only needs to be applied every 30 days whereas permethrin would need to be applied every two weeks. The most important thing to remember when treating for mosquitoes is that they hang out on the underside of leaves and shrubs. You should treat all shrubs, bushes and trees around the outside patio or wherever you hang out at around the house. You should also treat the tree line in your yard near the forest if one exists. Remember to not only treat the main bush or shrub but also the underside of the leaves.

All of our liquid insecticides including Bifen IT should be applied in dry weather, not rainy weather. All of the liquid insecticides are made to bond to dry surfaces and will last longer when applied when it is dry and not going to rain for at least 24 hours. The temperature does not matter as much. It can be applied in hot or cold weather, but it must be dry and not wet to work at its highest potential.

Bifen IT does leave a residual and will continue killing long after it dries. Typically, for roach problems you would want to apply every 30 days. However, for most roach infestations spraying alone is not enough. Using a roach bait up in the cabinets and drawers along with spraying down low under and behind appliances and along baseboards is the best way to eradicate a roach problem. Of course, sanitation and cleanliness also has to be a part of the plan.

Bifen IT is considered a general use insecticide and is labeled for outside and inside use. It is odorless, and very safe to use around children or pets. The general rule is that while spraying you keep children or pets in another room or outside to play. After about one hour, it should be dry and it is perfectly safe to allow kids and/or pets back in the room. This product is only strong enough to kill tiny insects, and would have no effect on animals like rabbits, etc.

Bifen IT will kill mosquitos very well! We recommend using 1oz Bifen IT into one gallon water and applying the solution to the underside of leaves on trees and bushes and also the underside of the eaves of yoru house as these are the palces mosquitoes rest during the heat of the day.

Is there a shelf life on mixed Bifen IT solution??
After mixing Bifen IT with water, is there a time period during which the mixed solution must be used before it becomes ineffective? I like to keep the remainder of the mixed product in a sprayer for later use, but am wondering if it will degrade quickly once mixed with water. Thank you Gary Black

You should never store product in your sprayer as it will weaken the gaskets and other pieces within the sprayer shortening the life of the sprayer. Is Bifen harmless if my pet chews/eats grass after it dries
My dog tends to chew on grass occasionally and ingest it. If it is dry and my dog does this will Bifen be harmful to her?

Bifen IT should not cause any problems for your pets even if they chew on the grass where the product has been applied.

We bought Bifen IT to control Rasberry ants in our yard and around the foundation of the house. What affect will it have on toad frogs and lizards that live in our flower beds?

Other than eliminating the food source of the toads and lizards, Bifen IT when mixed correctly is only strong enough to kill small insects and will have no effect on lizards or anything of that size or larger.

Generally, after an application of Bifen IT it should take anywhere between 30 min - 1 hour to dry. After the treated area has completely dried it is safe for the pets to re-enter.

Does Bifen have any effect on bees and wasps? If not, is there something I can add to it when I spray?
I live in Florida. Sand fleas, spiders, grasshoppers are a huge problem for me. I have 3 dogs and a cat.. I am having a problem with bees and wasps building up in the eves of my home. As well can I spray the inside with a hose attachment?

Yes, Bifen IT is labeled to kill wasps. It also states on the label that it is highly toxic to bees. Bifen IT is labeled to be broadcast across your lawn, sprayed on flowers, trees, bushes, etc. It is not labeled to be used on any type of edibles. Bifen IT can be used in a hose end sprayer as well.
