    Great Product!

    By Janet on 06/01/2011

Bifen IT is almost odor free. You can use it and have a cookout the same afternoon. Doesn't stain carpet or flooring and I love the fact it is safe for pets and children. Our home is surrounded by wooded areas and spiders were a problem. After a couple of years of using Bifen, they are no longer seen. Also, I spray up under our gutters in corners and we don't get mud daubers anymore.

Best Value Outdoor General Home Use Product

    By Ts on 04/02/2012

Exactly the same outstanding results as Talstar P, but more economically priced; and a much better value than other much more expensive liquid concentrates. Same very effective product as the Ortho Home Defense line, but you can safely apply it in a much stronger dosage for max results at a fraction of the cost of that product as sold at Lowe's, Home Depot, or WalMart. No staining, no odor, dries clear, and actually lasts much longer inside or outside than advertised. Great results for outside use around house, inside garage, in attic and crawlspace.

    Affordable control

    By Greg on 09/17/2021

2oz per gallon in pump sprayer of 2 gallons does my fenced 1/3 acre yard/trees. depending on rainfall, lets say 2x a week i have to reapply every 3 weeks for Mosquitos and gnats. Lasting effects for everything else is much longer. Spraying is nothing fancy, just wand it over the dew in the morning helps the spread, and under tree leaves(mosquito hiding spot). In Florida house Bifen was not effective enough but in Georgia it does great. Only Proflex works great in sub-tropical hands down but it's a small fortune.

    Fantastic Product

    By Kara on 07/14/2020

This is the product that Mosquito Joe uses and charged me $86.00 every three weeks to keep mosquitoes at bay. With the virus this year money has been tight so decided to order and do it myself. They use the big fogger type sprayer, but again dollars are tight - so used my pump sprayer. I live in the woods with alot of undergrowth ringing my house which I'm working on clearing. The mosquitoes would eat me alive in the afternoon and evening. I sprayed around the border of the brush areas and also made a circle around my garden. It took 2 gallons to do back and side yard along with the garden area.....There was enough to do part of the front. By the next evening I got one bite and none today. For the large area I do - it will take me about 30 to 45 minutes to do the whole area and I'd guess maybe one more gallon. Way cheaper than a pro....works just as well. I recommend this to anyone who is suffering from pesky mosquitoes.

    Versatile

    By Anonymous on 07/21/2013

    Verified Purchase

I have used Bifen in both versions. The liquid spray concentrate and the granules. I used the granules for exterior lawn insect control and like most it really does not last the whole season. In NC where the warm months are longer the product will probably keep the bugs at bay for about two months and then you will need to apply again. I used the bifen liquid spray concentrate on the perimeter of my house and on the interiors as well due to "small millepedes" coming into my house. After less than week I did not notice any more millepedes, so I would conclude that it was quite effective for that purpose. I think it is a versatile product and that the liquid spray would go a long way for both interior and exterior bug control.

Bifen IT does everything it says it will do

    By Jim on 09/20/2012

Learned of Bifen IT from a friend. He lives on the edge of a marsh and had a mosquito problem. He sprayed with Bifen IT and is abel to sit out in his yard in the evening a lot longer now. I wanted something for the same reason plus other creatures. Bifen has stopped all the ant mounds from popping up after our rains. I sprayed all around our slab and. We have not had any ants despite a Humming bird feeder leaking nectar on the drive. I also spray my Canna lillies for leif roller worms and have the best looking Cannas in the neighborhood. I am recomending this product to all my friends.

    The best stuff!

    By William on 07/12/2019

This stuff is the bomb! Bought a few years ago for mosquitoes after trying all the name brand things from the big box stores that don't work. Sprayed all around the house including 3 ft. up walls ( as it suggests), on and under bushes, shaded areas, turf and trees. Also can be sprayed inside so I lightly sprayed it around baseboards and in closets. By the next day the difference was amazing! Very few mosquitoes as well as a serious reduction in flies, ants, gnats, spiders, etc. Apparently it is mostly used for termites but seems to kill or keep away just about everything. Safe for kids and pets after it dries and leaves no milky film or residue when dry. It also comes in an oil based version that seems to work longer before needing to retreat but has a stronger odor. I use it away from the house in the trees and yard, although the smell is not that bad and gone in a few days. The product Talstar is the same thing but you pay more for the name brand, similar to buying Round Up when you can buy their active ingredient, glyphosate, for significantly less. We've told everyone we know about it and they all agree it works.

    Saved me from moving

    By Trevor on 06/24/2019

I purchased this product (at the best price I could find btw) in a effort to knock down the amount of mosquitoes in my yard. I live in the woods, with lots of leaves and a nearby swamp. Last year's as well as this year's spring have been very very rainy, which means lots of water around to breed Mosquitoes...Nothing I could do about that. They would swarm my car windows upon entering my driveway. It was unbearable to even walk from my car to the house, parked inside an attached garage. Using our yard was hopeless without heavy application of high Deet % bug repellents, and even that wasn't enough to stop from having to constantly swat at them. Not fun, practical, or good for us, especially our young kids. I generally don't like using poisons, but we honestly were to the point of talking about moving as the mosquitoes were simply too much. I applied Bifen as directed to the underside of my deck, underside of all my plants in the yard, and the perimeter plants and fallen leaves in the woods. Took about 6 gallons in a pump sprayer. That means 6 oz of Bifen. The effect was noticeable the next day, and even more so the following day. I can now use my yard freely without repellent. Still have a few mosquitoes, but NOTHING like it was. I did get eaten alive while spraying. This stuff does not appear to knock them down right away. Don't be surprised or disappointed by that. It will work. I've also used this around all my points of entry on my house to control ants and spiders. Which it appears effective as well. As a bonus, I've gone through my yard and sprayed a few second burst down the holes of the large ant population that was killing my grass and have seen dramatic results as well. I continue to see a normal amount of (for my area) dragon flys in my yard, tree frogs on my deck, as well as toads in the grass, birds by day, and bats at night. I can only assume they are largely unaffected, their welfare was a concern for me as I enjoy ALMOST all the wildlife in the yard. I've had no problems with the product clogging my sprayer. It seems to mix well at the proper ratio. I pour in measured amount of product, then add required water. I usually give it a couple shakes too for good measure. With the absurd amount of flooding rain my area has continued to receive, its been about a month, and I feel I need to reapply. Dry season the effects will likely last longer. No worries though, as to date, I've used a total of maybe 15oz, out of the 96oz jug. At this rate, the 40 some dollar jug will last me longer than it's shelf life of a couple years. I'll likely offer some to my neighbors for their yards as it will benefit all of us to have a larger treated area.

    Works well when use right.

    By Curt on 06/24/2020

This is my go to insecticide I use for my pest management business. Please read and follow the label instructions since “The Label” is the law. The unique formulation...called a “Suspension”...leaves the active ingredient Bifenthrin..on the surface of areas treated/sprayed so insects will move across the Bifenthrin particles and pick up a lethal dose. Be aware that Bifen IT isn't fast acting such as Cyper TC...but the Bifen IT formulation keeps working much longer than Cyper TC and without the restrictions of Taurus SC. I have went back to my bi-monthly customers for a scheduled treatment and there are insects still dying even after 45 to 60 days after the prior treatment. Of course those areas are mostly out of direct sunlight, but treating cracks and expansion joints and foundation of building areas...Bifen IT is performing well. Also...there is minimal oder and Bifen IT is allowed to be used in the interior of structures as a spot and/or crack and crevice treatment. This means don't spray Bifen IT all over baseboards etc..a thin treatment where baseboards meet the floors is very adequate to stop ants and those intrusive oriental cockroaches and earwigs that wander into the inside of buildings and/or garages. Do My Own Pest Control has always shipped promptly after ordering at very good prices...with shipping prices in...makes my business money since the cost is the actual cost to get Bifen IT to me on a timely basis without me having buy and store excess chemical. For an added punch on the exterior of a home/structure...buy a bottle of Cyper TC (Follow the label please!) from Do My Own Pest Control and mix 1/2 ounce of Cyper TC and 1 ounce of Bifen IT to each gallon of water for general pest control. This gives you a one/two punch against invasive insects and fries spiders.

Bifen IT for Crazy Raspberry Ants

    By Wes on 08/01/2012

Ive had Crazy Raspberry Ants for about two years. In fact, my whole neighborhood has them. Billions of them. I've tried Termidor, Talstar, Demon WP and Cyper WP (same as Demon). I tried several different ant baits. All were effective in killing them. The dead ones were piling up like coffee grounds but they kept coming. I have a large barn and a house and driveways and sidewalks. The Crazies would surround the house and barn and walk crazy trails along the edges of the concrete. Thankfully, they didn't try to enter the structures but I figured they were just waiting for an opportunity. It was disturbing to see so many of them and nothing really deterred them. Then I tried Bifen IT. I bought the ¾ gallon size and I mixed 14 gallons (per the directions) at a time in a power sprayer – just like I did with the other insecticides. I sprayed about two feet up the exterior walls of my structures and about two to three feet out into the yard. I sprayed the ant trails along the edges of the driveways and sidewalks. There were billions of dead ones but the live Crazies left for about a month. Then they came back. I treated everything again and they left for about six weeks. Then they came back again. I just did another treatment today, it's August. I expect them to leave again but I figure they will come back eventually. But at least the Bifen IT gets rid of them for weeks at a time and it doesn't seem to be diluted too much by rain. I think they avoid the Bifen IT and just hang out in the yard where I can't see them but at least I get some relief from the pests. I've seen that colder weather makes them go dormant but they really go crazy when it's hot. The only thing they are good for is I no longer have any fire ants anywhere in my three acre yard. A University entomologist told me they would eventually move out of the area but it could take a few years.
