  • Asked by David from East Tawas, Michigan
    05/27/2019
    Q
What types of weeds does the Bayer Advanced All-In-One Lawn Weed and Crabgrass Killer control? Does it cover cheatgrass?
I have a few patches of cheatgrass growing in a few areas of my lawn. Will Bayer Bio Advanced Weed Killer work on this evasive weed? If so, should I spray more than one application?
    A

The Bayer Advanced All In One Lawn Weed and Crabgrass Killer is not labeled to control cheatgrass. It has over 200 other broadleaf and grassy weeds on the label but it likely will not harm the target grass you have. Cheatgrass isn’t listed on many labels as its hard to control. You will likely need to use a product like Roundup to spot treat the cheatgrass and then fill in the bare spots with grass seed to try and keep it from coming back. There are a few pre emergents on the market that claim to prevent cheatgrass so you can look over those to see if you want to use them for prevention this fall and next spring. The Dimension 2EW is labeled to prevent brome/cheatgrass and can be used to prevent it and other weeds like crabgrass in the lawn.

  • Asked by Ann from Mesa
    03/01/2024
    Q
Is Bio Advanced All-In-One Lawn Weed and Crabgrass Killer safe for pets and can it hook up to a garden hose?
    A

The Bio Advanced All-In-One Lawn Weed and Crabgrass Killer is a concentate you mix with water to apply to the listed tolerant lawn species on the label for weed control. While the product can be used in a hose end applicator if you have one and it can be set to the rate needed, it is typically recommended to apply herbicides in a pump up tank sprayer as it gives a far more accurate application than a hose end device would provide. You can look at page 3 of the Product Label to see the specific instructions for using the herbicide in a hose end sprayer and what settings to use.  You will want to keep pets and kids out of the treatment area while the application is being made, and until everything has had time to dry completely, which is usually a few hours.
