  • Asked by Jeff from Grand Bay Alabama

    Q
If I have an underground well in my yard is it still safe to treat the yard for doveweed with Blindside?
If I have a under ground well in my yard is it still safe to treat the yard for dove weed by spraying the complete yard. Up to the pump house? In lower Alabama around Mobile.
    A

It is not recommended to use Blindside on a property with a well.  According to the product label:  The active ingredients in this product are known to leach through soil into groundwater under certain conditions as a result of label use. Use of this chemical in areas where soils are permeable, particularly where the water table is shallow, may result in groundwater contamination.

    Q
Can you use Blindside on nutgrass around flower beds?

You should not use Blindside Herbicide in a manner that would cause it to contact desirable plants in flower beds either by direct spray or by drift. You would have to very carefully spot treat the nutsedge only and avoid any contact with the flowers

  • Asked by Sam from Jacksonville, Fl

    Q
What can I use to kill nutsedge and dandelion on floratam?
I have St. Augustine Floratam variety grass. I have dandelion weed and nutsedge coming up. What can I use to kill it? Everything says don't use on St. Augustine Floratam. I bought some Image because I have dollarweed but that won't kill the dandelion or nutsedge.
    A

Dismiss Herbicide is a great option for nutsedge and dandelion and is safe for use in St. Augustine grass. The mixing ratio is 0.18-0.275 fl. oz. per gallon of water and will treat 1000 square feet.

  • Asked by Conrad from Clermont, Fl
    10/24/2016
    Q
After using Blindside how soon may I sow bahia grass seed?
    A

Blindside WDG does not list Bahiagrass as one of the tolerable turf types. Blindside Herbicide has demonstrated tolerance on both cool and warm season turfgrasses. However, not all varieties have been evaluated. Turfgrass managers desiring to treat newly released varieties should first apply Blindside Herbicide to a small area prior to treatment of larger areas. We recommend contacting the manufacturer FMC directly at 1-800-321-1362 for clarification or your local cooperative extension office here.

  • Asked by Laurel from Cape Coral, Fl
    03/30/2017
    Q
Does Blindside work on whitehead broom weed? I have tried everything but nothing seems to work. I have floratam grass.
    A

Blindside is not labeled for whitehead broom and we apologize but we are unable to find a product that can be safely used for it on a Floratam St. Augustine lawn that would not also kill the grass.  We would recommend checking with a master gardener at your local cooperative extension office to see if they are aware of any products that have been successfully used by others in your area.

  • Asked by Tonya from Kissimmee, Fl

    Q
Will applying Blindside under large live oaks have a negative affect?
I've read conflicting information about the use of Blindside around trees. Almost my entire Zoysia lawn is under the shade (therefore the canopy) of large live oaks (20 yr or more old). Will using Blindside under the canopy of trees this large still affect them?
    A

Blindside Herbicide WDG can be applied to listed established turfgrass for treating listed weeds that are actively growing. It should not be applied near the tree directly under the canopy.

    Q
Best product for getting rid of onion grass? (in beds and grass as well)
Hi, springs starting in MA and I have onion grass starting to grow all over the place (in beds and the grass as well). Do you have any recommendations on a selective herbicide that targets onion grass without killing/damaging the lawn?
    A
We would really like to know what type of turf grass you have. Blindside would be a great product for you, as long as your turf grass is tolerant.

  • Asked by Shannon from Lakeland, Fl
    09/25/2016
    Q
Can Blindside Herbicide WDG be used with Quicksilver Herbicide on St. Augustine grass?
If so are there any advantages?
    A

Per the Blindside Herbicide WDG product label it can be mixed with most other herbicides in a tank mix. However, when preparing a new tank mix conduct an appropriate compatibility test by mixing proportional amounts of all spray ingredients in a test vessel (jar) prior to tank mixing with other products. Shake mixture vigorously and allow it to stand for five to ten minutes. Rapid precipitations of the ingredients and failure to re-suspend when shaken indicates that the mixture is incompatible and shoudl not be applied.

Unless there are weeds/grasses on one label that are not on the other there aren't any advantages to combining Blindside with Quicksilver Herbicide
