    Bonide Grass Beater Over-The-Top Grass Killer Concentrate advises on the label to use a methylated seed oil as a surfactant with it. An example of one would be Duo Stick Select. This will helps the herbicide stick the weeds leaf surfaces for better coverage and faster burndown.

    Does Grass Beater become ineffective with age or freezing over the winter?
    I used 2 oz per gallon of water...2 weeks later the grass was still lush as ever in the flower beds. I left in the garage over the winter and we had below zero temps for a couple weeks. It also had been awhile since I used it.may be 4 years old...it seems it worked when i 1st used it after purchase in 2015. Also it rained maybe 12 hours after I used it this last time...could that affect it?

    Bonide Grass Beater Over-The-Top Grass Killer Concentrate has a shelf life of about 3-5 years from the date of purchase if stored at room temperature.  It it was stored in freezing temperatures for a long period of time, this can reduce the efficacy.  It is rainfast in 1 hour.

    Will Bonide Grass Beater Over-The-Top Grass Killer Concentrate harm wildflowers?
    I want to plant a wildflower garden in a field that has a lot of grass mixed in with ragweed and other wild flowers. I intend to throw wildflower seed and ground cover over the area after i get rid of most of the grass. Does this sound reasonable? I also don't want to harm bees.

    Due to variability within species, and in application techniques and equipment, and the number of tank mix combinations, neither the manufacturer nor the seller has determined if Bonide Grass Beater Over-The-Top Grass Killer Concentrate can safely be used on all varieties and species of wildflowers. It is recommended, therefore, that the user determine if this product can be used safely before broad use by applying the use rate of this product under the conditions expected to be encountered on a small test area. Any adverse effects should be visible within 7 days.

    do not want to mix whole bottle how many ounces to how much water

    We recommend reading the product label instructions as it will give you specific instructions on how much product to use per 1,000 sq ft depending on what you are using the product for.

    What temperature should we apply the Bonide Grass Beater in to the wiregrass in our daylilies?
    We live in the high desert and waiting for 65 degrees allows the grass to grow quite a lot. Spray cooler?My daylilies are being choked out by "wire grass". It starts growing on the high desert as soon as it warms up marginally. Should I just wait then trim the grass level with the plant before spraying?

    When applying the Bonide Grass Beater you want to make sure temps are not over 85 degrees especially if applying it around vegetable crops with a surfactant/adjuvant. You can apply it anytime the ground isnt frozen however the best results will occur if the plant is in an actively growing state.Most plants need to be in that growing state to have the chemicals respond effectively.  As with any herbicide, you want to have no mowing or cutting of the target weeds/grasses for 2 full days prior to application and for 2 full days after application so the plant can fully absorb the chemical.

    Will Bonide Grass Beater harm a Georgia sweet onion?

    I have ferns growing in my juniper and was wondering if Fusilade 2 or Sethoxydim is better to use?
    I did order Bonide Over the Top hoping that will work as well, or do you think Fusilade 2 is better?
