  • Asked by Dee from Geneva Ohio

    Q
Can I use Bonide Liquid Copper Fungicide on Black fungus on plum tree?
I know I need to remove the damaged part and burn it, but does your product kill the black fungus that forms on plum trees? If so what system do you suggest i use... How often etc.. Thanks
    A

We recommend identifying the fungus that your plum tree has. If you're dealing with black knot, Bonide Liquid Copper Fungicide Concentrate is not labeled for it. According to articles by Ohio State and the University of Maine, this is a fungus that can't be treated but there are a few things that can be done, one thing mentioned is using Chlorothalonil which can be found in Fung-Onil Multi Purpose Fungicide Concentrate which can be used on plum trees but it's also not labeled for this type of disease. We recommend reading over these articles and consulting with your local extension office.

  • Asked by Angelina from Seattle, Wa
    01/01/2017
    Q
Can Bonide Liquid Copper Fungicide be used on a potted olive tree to fight off Peacock spots?
    A

Bonide Liquid Copper Fungicide is not labeled for use on olive trees. Unfortunately, we do not currently sell any products labeled for Olive Peacock Spot/leaf spot. Olive trees can be sensitive to Neem Oil, which is what is commonly used on edibles for disease, so we are not sure this would be a safe application. We suggest contact a local Master Gardner for recommendations on how to treat this disease.
