    Q
Can Bonide Liquid Copper Fungicide Concentrate be used to treat for blight on Dogwoods?
    A

Bonide Liquid Copper Fungicide Concentrate does not actually list Dogwoods on the product label therefore we cannot recommend it. Dogwood blight control is difficult, but if you catch it early, you may be able to save the tree by cutting out all diseased tissues. That means all leaves, all twigs, and all branches showing signs of infection must be removed and destroyed promptly.

Fung-onil Multi-Purpose Fungicide contains Chlorothalonil which is known to be effective on Leaf Spots and Foliar Blights on Dogwoods.  Please review the full product label for more information and application rates.

Fungicide applications that are begun after the disease is already present do not provide acceptable disease control according to many online articles.

    Q
Can Bonide Liquid Copper Fungicide Concentrate be used to treat downy mildew on impatiens?
    A

Bonide Liquid Copper Fungicide Concentrate is not labeled to be used on impatiens.

According to this article by Wisconsin Horticulture County Extension Office, it states: "DO NOT use fungicides on plants that are showing symptoms as such treatments will not be effective. If you see impatiens downy mildew, remove symptomatic plants (roots and all), place them in sealed plastic bags and throw them away in the garbage; DO NOT compost these plants.  Also consider removing all impatiens within a three foot radius of symptomatic plants.  These plants are likely infected, but not yet showing downy mildew symptoms."

We would also recommend contacting your Cooperative Extension Office to see if they've had any success with any other specific products.

    Q
Can Bonide Liquid Copper Fungicide Concentrate be used on boxwoods?
    A

Bonide Liquid Copper Fungicide Concentrate does not actually list boxwood on the label.  Once boxwood blight is present in the landscape, it is very difficult to control. Fungicide applications that are begun after the disease is already present do not provide acceptable disease control according to many online articles.  It is recommended to use a product containing Chlorothalonil before the disease is an issue.

    Q
Will Bonide Liquid Copper Fungicide Concentrate treat leaf spot on a fruiting mulberry tree?
For the past two years we have had attacks of leaf spot which have fully defoliated our tree around the end of summer. We're hoping to treat in early spring and again as needed to prevent this next year.
    A

We would recommend contacting the Master Gardener with the County Cooperative Extension office for recommendations on the most effective fungicide for treating and preventing leaf spot on mulberry trees. We do carry Bonide Liquid Copper Fungicide Concentrate which is labeled for leaf spot on fruit trees however mulberry is not listed so we cannot advise that be used.
