Really interesting and fun way to annihilate fly's and other small insects. I tested firing into a sheet of Aluminum foil. Pattern is good. Haven't seen any residual salt. Works in corners and places where fly swatters don't. Gun is far enough away to not cause the bug to fly off. The only negative is the size vs the fly swatter. And its a good conversation piece to boot!

This is a fun item, I wish it would do better on Flitch fly's the ones that hover and dart around, too hard to hit when flying but if one lands this thing is a hoot! I wish there was a full auto version for one's on the fly! Very fun item for pay back on fly's, I cant stand them. The salt gun is fun!

The order process was seamless and shipping was fast. I ordered this gun from another company and they cancelled my order after a month of waiting. I was in a panic to get this before Christmas. Stinks, doesn't kill anything, not small lizards, or moths. Doesn't shoot any salt unless you cock it and shake it...Do they really expect a fly or bug to pose for you to get close enough to shoot it....A real piece of junk for the money and they won't even send you a shipping label to send it back. Do not recommend it at all to anyone!!!!

Ordered this gun for my husband's birthday and he loved it! Easy to use and already has provided hours of entertainment and pest control. Works great on house spiders too! Arrived quickly and in new condition.

Got mine today and eliminated dozens of flies. For each dispatched adolescent fly, hundreds of thousands of potential maggots were never laid. Also dismissed a poisonous spider (recluse). Better than sliced bread. I'm going to order more as gifts.

Got a bug-a-salt for Christmas, works great on stickbugs, spiders, moths and flies. This is an adult toy, it takes a little power to lock and load, then take the safety off, and be within 2 to three feet of you target, flies will allow you to get that close. Like any weapon find out you pattern on a piece of aluminum foil, practice to find out how you are aim is, then go hunting. Can't wait for picnic season it may not kill yellow jacket but it will see. Use only fine table salt, not coarse. Happy hunting

I'm always having trouble killing flies in the house. This gun is excellent for taking out those nasty critters. I did find that sea salt is more effective at killing flies and yellow jackets as it is a bit more coarse than table salt and has greater impact.

Bug-A-Salt has never made fly and insect control more fun. Not only will it eviscerate flies from a good distance, but any other insect or unwanted spiders in the house without harming the surface behind. Great weapon for the wife as well.

When my son first showed me the video, I thought what a gimmick. Then when he presented me with a Bug-A-Salt for my RV I was instantly sold. Constructed sturdy, operates without a flaw. What an ingenious idea. Now my friends want to know where to get them, and I am excited about giving them your information.

I am very pleased with the Bug gun. Having multiple shots is much more fun than the old single shot way. I have lots of daddy long leg spiders around my place, and the Bug-A-Salt makes short work of them. It's my form of hunting without leaving home. Thanks for a new slant on an old problem.

I bought 2 one for a friend, after around 1000 shots both guns failed. At $50.00 dollars that is about $0.05 cents per shot. The salt dust gets into the air cylinder with the rubber seal and eats it up. Suggest you use a coarser salt. It is a lot of fun and is effective until it fails.

This little salt shotgun is amazing. What a great invention. Also gave one to a buddy and he and his daughter are having a blast. I think I will buy one for my wife so we can go on a tandem fly/spider hunt around the house/cabin. Love It!!!

I gave several of these guns to adult members of my family who are gun enthusiasts. Such a surprise was the one who has the biggest and best collection of guns than the others!. He absolutely LOVES his BUG-A-SALT!!!!! He couldn't hardly wait until he got home and showed his co-workers in the field how great it worked! This gun is great on flies, slugs, and other creatures with soft skeletal bodies. Do not expect it to work on bug with the harder extraskeletal bodies, i.e. wasps, hornets, etc. To see what your spray shot is, practice with a piece of aluminum foil to see what the spray pattern is from different feet away from the bug. Always perform maintenance on your gun when not loaded, just as you would any other firearm! Happy Hunting! Kodos to DoMyOwnPestControl for becoming a distributor for BUG-A-SALT!!!

My husband REALLY wanted a bug-a-salt gun. So i ordered one for Christmas. My mistake was ordering 2. I thought "oh well, my fault". It was just before Christmas and was afraid it might not arrive quick enough, it did with several days to spare( just like promised). I was expecting my hysband any minute, so i wrapped it in a hurry and stuck it under the tree. Never even opened it. I thought it was just one of the guns. So waited a few more days for the second one to arrive, when it hadnt by Dec23, I sent an email. WOW! within just a few minutes, i received a response, letting me know that both were shipped in the same box. My husband is thrilled, its exactly as advertised, and customer sevice was better than perfect!

I am passionate hunter with all sorts of rifles for hunting everything. This has got to be one of my favourite guns. My wife shot a wolf spider from about 1 ft away and the spider shattered. So well worth the fun and it's very effective. You can shoot a little further than 3 ft also. Not bad accuracy at all. I got the camo bug a salt.

I am a volunteer at a youth camp. Flies are always a problem, especially in the kitchen. We use various aids to control and get rid of flies in the kitchen. The Bug-A-Salt gun is now one of them. I can get take out the flies that refuse to sit still for the fly swatter and it is fun. Does not make a mess with the salt or with the flies.

I got one a few years ago. slow to shoot but it was great. I live near a lot of cattle ranches so with cows comes lots of flies. I would give this five stars; however, I got a new one and gave my old one away to a friend. I wish I had it back. The new one doesn't work most of the time. Customer service says. " It's probably wet salt... pour hot water in it." I live in Arizona. we have nothing wet here. it's possible I got a bad gun. I got flies everywhere and no gun. I am defenseless. Pray for me.

For months on end I had a problem with flies landing on my monitor. That sort of thing becomes maddening. My poor monitor almost got punched more than once. So I ordered this thing. Up until the day before it arrived, the flies kept landing on the monitor. And the day it came, the flies stopped. The only thing this has been fired at is the palm of my hand (it stings). Oh, and it was tried on the monitor to see if it would damage it (it didn't). But it's apparently an utterly fantastic fly repellent. Maybe they all moved out when they heard it was coming.

One of the "Most Fun" purchases I've ever made. I got one as an early Christmas present and it was at the peak of the fly season. I've killed hundreds of them with no chasing or stalking required and it all cost two or three cents for ammo! I immediately bought four more to give as gifts to those I really like. Just cant wait to see how it does on carpenter bees. That will classify as "Big Game" and I'll put them arbitrarily in the Big Four category! Buy one (or five)! You'll love it!!!

I got one as a gift from a buddy a few years ago when it was first in production. It works great, I just killed my first fly this season a few days ago. It often makes you wish you had flies to be able to kill. If they are fast, shoot from a distant to injure then go in for the kill that will shred them to peices. Sorry I had too much fun with this shotgun. By the way, this is NOT A TOY, the salt at that pressure hurts.

If you want to kill bugs with a gun, and save yourself some $$!! Go find a cheap pellet gun(Walmart usually has them for $15-$20. Pull the end off of Q-tip and use as a "wad" pushing down with small chopstick*. Put aprox. 1/8-1/4 teaspoon of salt (I prefer coarse)down gun barrel. Pack down with chopstick planning to shoot downward, pack small amount of other end of Q-tip down on top. BE CAREFUL!! Depending on # of pumps, can shoot into skin(OOOUCH!). This will save $ and take down a cicada! Or any large, non-armored bug. ENJOY!!! *If chopstick is too wide, simply shave strips off with knife until thin enough.

This thing is pretty cool, it destroys gnats, fruit flies, small moths, etc. It knocks any size fly off whatever it's sitting on, but the larger flies often just fly away after the first hit, sometimes after the second and third hits too. I suspect it does them some damage, it seems like (though hard to say for sure) I find them languishing later but it's not like I can tell one from another, how the ones I've seen that were in distress got that way is anyone's guess. Bottom line is, it's disheartening to blast one at point blank, only to watch it fly away, thumbing it's nose no doubt. (Even worse when you're trying to show the gun to a chick, who can't stop laughing at it/you.) I didn't send it back, but I'm not sure I would buy it if I could do it over again.
