It kills weeds, but the sprayer broke.

    By Henry on 03/30/2013

It definitely kills weeds, no problems there. The problem is the sprayer - it broke when I tried to switch it off. I couldn't stop the fluid from coming out until the pressure equalized. I guess I'll just have to pinch the line with something, just annoying.

    Burnout weed killer

    By Lilly on 04/28/2014

Been using this product for several years. Until a few years ago, I had no problem with using it---then it seems they made it thicker and even when I buy the already mixed one, it dribbles out at best. I tried mixing the concentrate with hot water as the company suggested but it still is too thick and dribbles out. I have to go up to each weed, bend down and wait until a few drops dribble on the weed. It is frustrating. They HAD a good product about 4 years ago and then I started having problems. I used to buy the large concentrate and put it in my sprayer and it ruined many sprayers of mine. I am fed up with the product. I like how it kills weeds but I opted to actually pull the weeds since I cannot get the sprayer to actually fan out. I am surprised they can still sell this because it is too thick and clogs all the sprayers and even the prepared product that I bought thinking it would be better. It is hard to "rate" the product due to the sprayer problems. The product is a 5 but the fact it clogs is a 1. So, I will rate it a 2.

Sort Questions
Q
Can I use the BurnOut as a lawn killer? How long should I wait before planting the new lawn?

Also will it hurt my trees or bushes?

A
Yes, the BurnOut Weed & Grass Killer will kill any vegetation it comes into contact with so while you can use it on your lawn to kill it, you need to stay away from bushes and roots of trees. According to the product label, you can replant new grass within 24 hours but we normally recommend waiting at least 7 days after killing the lawn to reseed.

Q
Will Burnout get rid of oleander roots without damaging surrounding plants?
A

BurnOut Weed and Grass Killer RTU is a non-selective herbicide, so it will affect whatever plants you spray directly with it. This product will not stay in the soil or volatize to other plants. Since this product has been discontinued, you may want to consider Natural Guard Non-Selective Grass and Weed Killer instead.
