The  Drexel Peptoil Crop Oil Concentrate will allow it to stick to the bark but not penetrate into the trunk like you may be looking to achieve with your application.  Usually, this is used for foliar applications for herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and fertilizers.  For a basal bark treatment you would use Pentra Bark to help penetrate into the tree.
