Can Grass Out Max (Clethodim Herbicide) be used to permanently kill off bermudagrass and allow me reseed after?

Answer:

Grass Out Max (Clethodim Herbicide) can be used to kill actively growing bermudagrass in ornamental beds however would not be used for turf applications. This product is only a post emergent and does not have any pre emergent qualities to prevent bermudagrass from germinating.  Depending on the type of turfgrass you will be reseeding with, you can kill the bermudagrass with a non selective like Roundup QuickPro and then reseed after 2 weeks. If you are reseeding with a cool season turfgrass such as Tall Fescue, Kentucky Bluegrass, Ryegrass – Tenacity Herbicde can be applied for pre emergent control of weeds at the same time as seeding. View the Tenacity product label for more information.
