Can I mix Bonide Systemic Granules Insect Control into the soil before potting plants?

I mix up my own soil combination for my indoor plants. If I know the size of the pot I am going to use, can I mix the granules with the soil prior to adding to the pot? This puts the granules within the pot and not on top. Will that work?
