Steven from Homosassa, Florida writes

Can I mix Image and MSM for an application on a Saint Augustine Lawn in Florida?

I want to control nutsedge and spurge.

Answer:

The product label of MSM does not mention that MSM and Image have been tested for tank mixes.  It does state: "Tank mixes with other registered herbicides and MSM Turf Herbicide should be tested for compatibility before full scale mixing. Use mechanical or bypass agitation to thoroughly mix the spray suspension. It is not necessary to premix this product with water in a separate container prior to adding it to the spray tank. This product should always be added to the tank first, before any other herbicides or adjuvants." Keep in mind that MSM has extremely low application rates and is very difficult to apply to small areas. A great option to treat both nutsedge and spurge would be a sulfentrazone product such as Sulfentrazone 4SC. This product is safe on most turfgrasses and has very low use rates.
