Juan from Laguna Niguel writes

Can Monterey Horticultural Oil be used to treat root aphids?

Answer:

For root aphids, we would suggest using Monterey Horticultural Oil as a foliar spray application to the leaves and stems of the roses and using Dominon 2L as a systemic application to the root zone. Dominon 2L is should be applied at the rate of 0.2 oz per inch of trunk diameter for trees or per foot of shrub height for bushes. This is the most effective treatment for year round control of aphids. Please review our article on Aphid Control for more information on treating this pest. ?
