Can I spray Lontrel over the top of black eye Susan's and daylily's and rose bushes?

I have a thistle infestation "millions" lol. I want to spray over the top to kill all the thistle without damaging the plants. Will this work or is there a selective herbicide out there that I can use?

Answer:

Lontrel Turf and Ornamental Herbicide does not list on the product label dayflower or black eye Susan as tolerable to application and would not be recommended to be used around them.

For this type of area hand pulling is best as there is not a broadleaf herbicide that would not also harm your broadleaf plants. The best option is spot treat all weeds with a glyphosate or other nonselective herbicide being very careful to not contact the desirables and using a pre-emergent to prevent weeds emerging in the first place.
