Lance from Fairbanks, Alaska writes

Can I spray Pendulum Aquacap before winter?

In Fairbanks Alaska we have snow on the ground for 5-6 months and then a rapid spring in May. We don't always get 1/2” of rain in May. Would Pendulum AquaCap be effective if I sprayed in October when we do get lots of drizzle? Weeds and grasses emerge very quickly in May. I sprayed on May 13 this spring and we got 1/2 of rain or more within 30 days. I have significantly fewer weeds this summer.

Answer:

Pendulum 3.3 EC applied in October may prevent weeds germinating in May when used as the highest rate listed on the label.  You want to be sure that there is enough “drizzle” to water the product in ½ inch within 30 days of application.  For the best timing advice it would be recommended to contact your local cooperative extension office to determine the correct timing of the application as this will vary greatly from region to region.
