Paul from Cape Coral Florida writes

Can Sulfentrazone 4SC Select Herbicide be used safely on Floratam varieties of St. Augustine/Centipede in South Florida?

Answer:

Sulfentrazone 4SC Select is labeled to be used on St. Augustine lawn but the label doesn't specify Floratam as tolerant or restricted. The product label does adivse that "St. Augustine grass and some varieties of bahiagrass, rough bluegrass or zoysiagrass, particularly turfgrass that has been stress-weakened can experience temporary leaf surface discoloration (removed upon mowing) upon application of Sulfentrazone 4SC Select. Chemicals, certain cultural practices, disease, mechanical exposure and cultivation, and weather can all be causes of stress-weakened turf."
