Can this sprayer work effectively with Barricade concentrate?

Answer:

We would not recommend using a hose end to apply Barricade 4L.  Rates are not per gallon of water but are per area. Herbicides are much different than other chemicals because water just acts as the carrier. In this case the product label recommends  you use .23 - 1.1 oz per 1,000 sq ft to be treated. Please read the product label to determine the exact usage rate for your needs as it varies according to the species of grass you have. Once you have determined the usage rate per 1,000 sq ft you can follow the outlined steps to decide how much water you should use per 1,000 sq ft (this will vary for every person as the type of equipment will be different and the walking speed of the applicator will be different). 1.Mark off an area that is 1,000 square feet (i.e. 20 by 50 feet or 25 by 40 feet).
2. Place the sprayer on a level surface and add water (no herbicide) noting the final level of water in the spray tank.
3. Spray the marked 1,000 sq ft  area with a sufficient volume of water to provide uniform coverage. 4.Refill the spray tank with the amount of water it took you to cover the 1,000 sq ft area
5. Add the pre-determined amount of herbicide that is needed to cover the 1,000 sq ft area to the spray tank.
Example: If the sprayer uses 1 gallon of water to cover 1,000 square feet and the desired application rate of the chosen herbicide is .80 fluid oz./1,000 square feet, then you would add .80 fluid ounces of the chosen herbicide to every 1 gallon of water to be used.
