Can I use Martins I.G Regulator in the drain for drain flies?

I have drain flies that I cannot seem to eliminate. I read that an IG regulator will help. Will Martins IG Regulator help with this problem?

Answer:

Martins I.G. Regulator is not labeled for drain flies. We recommend using Gentrol Aerosol to aid in treating drain flies. We like it because it comes with an applicator straw that eases application to hard to reach areas in and around sinks, toilets, etc.  However, drain flies breed in organic "gunk" that is down the drain.  You need something to put down the drain that will eat this gunk away or it will continue to be a problem.  This is where drain gel comes in.  We have a Drain Fly Kit just for your situation.  Drain gel poured down the drain every night for about a week will eat away at the "gunk" and eliminate the source of the problem.  So this does not happen again, you should use drain gel once a month for maintenance on your drains so the "gunk" does not build up again.
