Can I use the Bayer Advanced Brush Killer to kill poison ivy near a koi pond?

I have poison ivy running around the bottom & up a tree next to my koi pond?

Answer:

When poison ivy or any undesirable vine is growing on or around a tree, steps should be taken to ensure that the tree is not harmed. Since it is close to a koi pond (and we arent sure how far away the pond actually is from the treatment area), even more precaution should be taken due to the sensitivity of koi to many products.  If you choose to use the Bayer Advaned Brush Killer Plus Concentrate, you would need to wear gloves and carefully cut the vines and ivy in places and use a paint brush to dip into the solution and apply carefully and directly onto the fresh cut. We suggest keeping newspaper nearby to rest the brush on between cuts and applications to ensure it doesnt get into the soil or root zone of the tree. You want to keep the herbicide as directed to the plant itself as possible and avoiding getting any into the soil if possible.
