Can I use Zylam for bark banding for Japanese beetles on Crape Myrtles?

Is a banding application of Zylam on Crape Myrtles effective for Japanese Beetles? How long will it take to control the pests?

Answer:

Bark Banding applications of Zylam Liquid Systemic Insecticide for Japanese Beetles would not be recommended as they feed on the leaves of the trees.  A systemic application to the soil would be best as directed on the product label.  It can take up to 8 weeks to translocate throughout the plant/tree depending on the size.  For current infestations you can use a foliar application of something like Talstar P.
