    Q
How dangerous is Casoron 4G Herbicide for my dog?
My 13 year old dog was exposed to it many times during the day for 5 straight days before I found out it was not safe for dogs. Do you have any suggestions that I can relay to the person that requested this chemical?
    A

If the pet was not in the area during treatment and while wet, it is safe for their return. If your dog had direct exposure to the product and/or wet surfaces, we recommend that you consult with the manufacturer regarding safety. OHP Inc. can be reached at 800-659-6745.

  • Asked by Crystal from Longview,wa

    Q
Would Casoron be good to use under raised flower beds?
Can I apply Casoron on the ground underneath all the dirt and soil when making my raised beds? My thought was to eliminate weeds from coming up through. Also does it work on morning glory and blackberry bushes?
    A

We would not recommend Casoron 4G for raised beds or flower/ornamental areas as many species have not been tested over and it could cause damage to the plants. A better option would be Snapshot for a granule to put down in beds as long as they are not vegetables. Snapshot TG is ideal for ornamental and flower bed areas to prevent a wide range of grassy and broadleaf weeds from emerging. Normally you will want an application of this to the top of the soil though  as if you only treat deep in the ground you will not have a barrier on the surface where your first weeds would start to grow and appear. Since a pre emergent is designed to create a wall like barrier in the soil, it needs to be applied after all soil and plants have been put into place as disturbing the soil after application will remove the barrier.

  • Asked by Paul from Puyallup, Wa
    07/18/2019
    Q
Can I scrape off the top layer of soil in an area where I want to replant after using Casoron 4G Herbicide?
Over a year ago I treated an area with Casoron. I now want to add more top soil and plant hydrangeas. Will it work to peal or rake off a layer of soil, apply the new top soil, dig the planting holes deeper, fill with new soil and then plant the flowers?
    A

If you want to plant in Casoron 4G Herbicide treated areas you would need to just wait one year.  After that time nothing is needed, ie removing soil, to be able to plant in the area.

    Q
Which should I buy for pre-emergent granules for a lawn of Perennial Ryegrass and Tall Fescue mixture?
Casoron 4G, Corral 2.68G or Pendulum 2G? I have all kinds of weeds- Southern DE. Type of lawn as stated above.
    A

Casoron 4G Herbicide is not labeled to be used in lawns so would not be recommended.   Pendulum 2G and Corral 2.68G both contain the same active ingredient and would be comparable, really, as they are labeled for the same weeds.
