    Q
Can I apply Casoron 4G around bulbs?
    A

Casoron 4G Herbicide is not labeled to be used around bulb plantings, so we would not recommend this application. Gallery 75 DF can be used around ornamental bulb plantings 2-4 weeks after planting but prior to emergence of annual weeds. Per the product label: Gallery also may be applied following bulb emergence but prior to flowering and after flowering. For fall planted bulbs, apply Gallery 75 DF in late winter or early spring to weed-free soil surfaces. For bulbs, make a single applcation wtithin 30 days following planting and prior to bulb emergence.

    Q
Can I use Casoron 4G around established ice plants?
I have a hillside covered in ice plants, the issue is weeds start growing in the same area. Can I use Casoron Granuals before the weeds sprout to control this?
    A

Casoron 4G Herbicide does not list ice plants on the label as tolerable so we cannot recommend it.  A better option would be the Snapshot DG.

    Q
    Does Casoron prevent Japanese Stiltgrass?
    A

Casoron 4G Herbicide is not labeled to prevent Japanese Stiltgrass so would not be recommended.  There actually is not a pre that is labeled to prevent it.  We do carry Acclaim which is a post emergent for it and could be used depending on your turgrass.

    Q
Can I spread Casoron 4G Herbicide by hand between my arborvitae and a retaining wall on property line?
I don't have enough ground to roll my spreader. Weeds grow up through the stonewall and into the arborvite
    A

Casoron 4G Herbicide is best applied with a spreader that can be set to a rate per area.  We do have a few options for hand spreaders here as an alternative to push spreaders.

  • Asked by Ryan from Mize Ms

    Q
Can Casoron 4g herbicide be used in a vegetable garden?
    A

The Casoron 4G herbicide product label states: Do not plant rotational crops, on which dichlobenil is not registered, in treated soil within one year of application.  It is not labeled to be used in the soil where vegetables will be planted so we cannot recommend you do so.  For vegetable gardens, we have the Monterey Vegetable & Ornamental Weeder and the Hi-Yield Herbicide Granules.  Please refer to each product label for a complete list of plants it is safe to use with and the target weeds to determine which fits your needs.

  • Asked by Aaron from Midland
    06/11/2021
    Q
What is meant by "shallow incorporation" Casoron 4G label says incorporation of 4-6 inches?
How would I incorporate the material 4-6 inches into the ground? Is this not a typical pre-emergent that can be spread normally on top of the lawn and then watered in?
    A

Shallow incorporation for Casoron 4G Herbicide is recommended in southern areas, for more effective prevention of weed germination because many weed species germinate near the soil surface, and the top 1 to 2 inches of soil.  This is can be achieved by mechanical methods such as tillage or carried into the soil by rainfall.
