The seeding interval will vary depending on what type of turf you have. To rake you should wait until the weeds are completely dead. You should review the product label for specific directions for your turf. For example:
"Seeded Bermudagrass: This product may be applied to Bermudagrass up to 90 days prior to seeding without a significant reduction in Bermudagrass stand."
"Seeded Zoysiagrass: This product may be applied to zoysiagrass up to 90 days prior to seeding without a significant reduction in zoysiagrass stand."
Celsius WG Herbicide is for use only on warm-season grasses, so if you have a cool season lawn, then this product would like damage or kill it. When used as directed it would not harm the lawn.
If you are treating 3 acres, that is a total of 130,680 sq feet. If applying at the high rate of 0.113 oz per 1,000 sq ft, you would use a total 14.75 oz of Celsius WG Herbicide.
Per the product label for Dallisgrass Control: This product in combination with REVOLVER® Herbicide (2 fl oz per gallon) and MSO at 1% v/v applied as a spot treatment in late summer or early fall will suppress and/or control dallisgrass. Applications made sooner may not be effective. Add the specified product rate of 0.085 - 0.113 oz (2.4 - 3.2 g) to enough water to create approximately one gallon of spray solution. One gallon of spray solution will treat up to 1,000 sq ft. Make a second application if regrowth is observed 30-60 days later, but do not exceed 0.17 oz (4.8 g) of product per 1,000 sq. ft. in a calendar year
Celsius WG Herbicide is not labeled to be applied where animals there are grazing animals or livestock.
Please view our Range and Pasture Page for products labeled to be used in areas where grazing animals or livestock may be present. Review the individual product labels to ensure proper application methods are followed.
Celsius WG Herbicide will not work well in a hose end sprayer because those sprayers are not accurate enough to apply the correct amount of product. You will need to use a hand pump sprayer and uniformly spray the product over the specified area. As with most herbicides the exact volume of water is not very important, you just need to be sure you are getting the correct amount of product on a specific area. Celsius may be applied at three different rates depending on the weeds to be controlled. For the appropriate rate and species consult USE RATES FOR WEED CONTROL section on the Celsius product label.
Celsius WG Herbicide is not labeled to be used on fescue (tall or fine fescue) Per the product label, "Do not use this product on bahiagrass or cool-season turf types, including tall fescue, fine fescue, Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, or creeping bentgrass".
The product label does give a 28 day interval if overseeding Bermuda with Ryegrass however we would recommend contacting Bayer directly for questions regarding seeding with fescue. Bayer can be reached at 1-800-331-2867
Avenue South Broadleaf Herbicide would be a better option for use on Fescue.
Celsius WG Herbicide is not labeled for basketweave/basketgrass.
Unfortunately, there really are not a lot of options for treating basketgrass. It should be spot treated with a non selective herbicide, and then reseed/resod in those areasFor maximum effectiveness, Celsisus WDG should be kept at room temperature. Storing chemicals in cold/freezing temperatures will degrade the active ingredient and greatly reduce the efficacy of the product. When stored properly, out of extreme temperatures and out of direct sunlight, you can expect Celsius to last for about 3 years from the date of purchase.
Yes, Celsius WG Herbicide is safe for Zoysia Grass when used as directed per the product label. Please view the Use Rates for Weed Control Chart on page 4 of the product label.
Celsius WG Herbicide works best when soil temperatures are above 65 degrees per the product label. Symptom development may be slow in weeds treated under cool conditions (soil temperatures 65 degrees or less)
Per the label, it is prohibited to transfer clippings to non-targeted areas so it is not recommended to compost clippings from Celsius WG treated areas.
Yes, Celsius WG Herbicide can be used now if the weeds are actively growing. This is safe for use in centipedegrass and will not harm it.
Celsius WG Herbicide is not labeled for Catbrier also known as Greenbrier, Cat Sawbrier and Sarsaparilla vine. Greenbrier is a very difficult weed to control once established since it has a rhizome system under the ground.
This article from the UGA Extension service has advice on how to treat this plant:
For a glyphosate product, we would suggest Ranger Pro Concentrate and for a brush killer/triclopyr product, Crossbow Herbicide (triclopyr and 2,4-D) or Southern Ag Brush Killer (triclopyr) would be recommended.
