Not quite what I expected

First, I want to say that I really like dealing with DoMyOwn, but this product has been a letdown. I was in a chat about Poa in my lawn, and bought a pre emergent for use this fall. I do admit that the person I was chatting with said that using pre emergent was The Best way to deal with it. I asked about anything else that could be done, and they said there is this product call Certainty that can be used Post Emergent, so I bought some. It's about $129 for 1 1/2 ounces of powder. I mixed it according to directions and sprayed it on a couple test patches. Not much happened with the first application for about 10 days, so I reapplied. I think I would have been better off with Roundup. It totally kills Poa, but no one can tell me if I can now reseed these areas or if they are barren for six months. So I have horrible dead patches in the lawn, still have 95% of the Certainty left, and am left wondering if anyone should ever use this on a residential lawn......it's a big waste of money. Use Pre Emergent in the fall!
Expert response:
You may notice signs of the poa dying (discoloration-yellowing or browning) within 2-3 weeks after you have applied Certainty but it is normal not to see anything for at least a month. Per the product label, you can make an additional application 4 or more weeks after the initial application as needed. According to the product label, you should wait at least 3 weeks before re-seeding or over-seeding after application.
