    Questioning manufacturing?

    By Bk on 07/02/2010

    Verified Purchase

This container got the job done...and I had my hand in it's use, plus my handyman's help in setting this up. However, my handyman questioned the longevity of this product. The manufacturing of this pump sprayer disappointed him. Running a comparison with this sprayer and one he had from home depot, which cost $5.00 more: he wanted the handle of this pump to not leak air after the first use. The seal around the opening and the threading hissed air. The black tubing from the container bent and pinched off easily, in his opinion: he wanted to see a more pliable tubing. The "fan spray" did not spray in a fan configuration.

    Chapin Sprayer

    By Jt on 08/04/2010

The lever part of the handle came off after about 30 min of spraying. The maker sent a replacement part right away and all has been working fine so far.

    application is a breeze

    By Kimberly on 08/14/2010

    Verified Purchase

The pump sprayer makes application so easy. My husband didn't want me to purchase it with our last order and said he could find something else to use that would be cheaper. I ordered it anyway, he used it and realized it was perfect especially for the price. He had looked around and found nothing that compared to the value, durability; and the others couldn't guarantee sprayers durability with the use of chemicals. You won't be disappointed especially for the price, excellent value.

    Gallon Sprayer

    By Brian on 07/07/2010

    Verified Purchase

I really like the idea that this sprayer has a nice full fan pattern. It really does a great job of applying the home barrier. Also, it pumps out every drop w/o leaving a residue in the tank. I've sprayed both our home and our daughter's place.

Q
Does the Chapin pump sprayer (20000) sprayer have a high pressure relief valve?

I was looking at the sprayers that you have to offer so I could compare them to see which one would be perfect for the task I need to do, and I noticed that it did not mention anything about having a high pressure auto/manual relief valve.

A
No, the basic Chapin sprayer #20000 does not have a pressure relief valve.  Only the Premier sprayers, models #21200 and #21210 come with a pressure relief valve.

Q
How do I fill the Chapin 1 Gallon pump sprayer?
A
To fill the sprayer you will turn the handle attached to the pump counterclockwise and remove it, insert the water and product you are using, and re-screw the pump back in by turning the handle clockwise until tight.

Q
Does this sprayer allow for a fan mist or is the fan mode more of a no pressure sprinkle?

I need this to spray a light mist to cover ceilings and walls with The Demon WP product for roach control. Thank you!

A
The Chapin one gallon sprayer will give an actual broad mist when the nozzle is in that position. However, please note that no spray should ever be used as a broadcast spray on ceilings and walls or over your head for safety reasons, and Demon is specifically designed for baseboard and crack and crevice treatments only. You not only would be using the product against the label instructions, but you risk having the spray come back on yourself or other areas of the room that you wouldn't want the product to be on. A better application for roaches in high areas would be a bait gel. You can find the proper techniques for treating all areas of a home or business for roaches in our article here: How to Get Rid of Roaches.

Q
Can I use the same Chapin 1 Gallon Pump Sprayer (#20000) for herbicide and pest control?
A

It is fine to use different products out of the same sprayer such as the Chapin 1 Gallon Pump Sprayer (#20000), as long as you triple rinse the sprayer and wash it out thoroughly.  If you do not wash it out thoroughly, then you could damage or kill the desirable plants/grass, etc. with any herbicide residual left in your sprayer.  You should always triple rinse the sprayer if you are changing the product that you are using.  Triple rinse means to rinse out the inside of the sprayer 3 times, and also fill it with water and run clean water through the hose for at least 1 minute to make sure that there is no residual left in the hose in addition to the tank. We also sell tank cleaners that are excellent for removing any possible residual from your sprayer.
