  • Asked by Derrick from District Heights

    Q
When do you apply CoRon to the lawn and will it green up the lawn?
    A
You can apply the CoRon 28-0-0 Fertilizer any time the lawn is in need of a boost of nitrogen throughout the season. The high nitrogen will help the lawn with growth and some green up, but if you have a product with a fairly high nitrogen plus Iron, you will see more green up and health in the lawn. You could either go with the other version of CoRon, the 18-3-6 which has a high nitrogen but also some of your other needed lawn nutrients as well as Iron, or you could go with one granular product that has them both in one as well like the Ferti-lome Lawn Food Plus Iron 24-0-4.

  • Asked by Wayne from Taylors, Sc
    05/24/2018
    Q
Do you sell liquid fertilizer for pastures?
Can you use it while the cattle graze?
    A

The CoRoN 28-0-0 that we currently have listed is just for turf and ornamentals. There are Ag versions of these products which we hope to carry eventually. Fertilizer is usually chosen based on the nutrients that are lacking in the soil. We would recommend that you contact your local cooperative extension office/agricultural department regarding a safe fertilizer. Generally, fertilizers should be fine to use in grazing areas, however, it depends on what else it contains and this area is a little out of our expertise.

  • Asked by Jay from Colorado Springs

    Q
How much CoRon 28-0-0 Liquid Fertilizer do I inject for trees per 1 inch diameter at breast height?
I have 100 gal tank and 5 gal coron. How much do I need to applt per 1 diameter inch. I have a lot of trees different species and dbh. I plan on doing a soil injection.
    A

The product label for CoRon 28-0-0 allows the fertilizer to be applied via fertigation, foliar application, or soil injection for trees and shrubs. Apply 1 lb of nitrogen per 1,000 sq ft using 10 gallons of total volume per 1,000 sq ft. You would inject the solution into the soil 4"-8". Therefore, if you are using a 100 gal tank, you would 3.4 gal of CoRon and 96.6 gal of water to treat 10,000 sq ft, regardless of the size of the plants in the area. It is recommended to apply 1-3 lbs of N per 1,000 sq ft of landscape are in at least 1 to 2 applications per year.

    Q
Why is there rates or measurements in pounds when the CoRoN 28-0-0 Liquid Fertilizer is a liquid? How many ounces do I use for my lawn per 1000 sq ft?
    A

Nitrogen fertilizers are measured or instructed is the form of “____ lbs of Nitrogen per 1000 sq ft” This is standard for both liquid and granule fertilizers.

If a soil analysis recommended that 1lb of Nitrogen per 1000 sq ft is needed, this would be 44 fl oz of CoRoN 28-0-0 Liquid Fertilizer per 1000 sq ft.

44 fl oz is equal to 1lb of Nitrogen for this product.
