Nyguard IGR is mixed at 3 ml to 8 ml per gallon. Please see the label for complete application instructions.
Cyzmic CS Controlled Release Insecticide is not a knockdown insecticide, but it can be used in conjunction with knockdown sprays. It can be reapplied every 21-day intervals, if necessary. You will need to give it more time for it to work.
Both products are good and target both chiggers and springtails, they are both micro-encapsulated just different active ingredients. Cy-Kick CS has a residual kill for up to 30 days.
There is not a particular time that is necessary for the Cy Kick to be sprayed within other than making sure its not before a rain. While the Cy Kick is a great product you will probably see better success with something like Permethrin SFR mixed with Archer IGR like whats in our Tick Control Kit. If you are not using an IGR (birth control) when treating for ticks it will be extremely hard to get rid of them.
Permethrin SFR would be a great choice for indoor and outdoor tick control. We also recommend adding an insect growth regulator such as Archer IGR to Permethrin to stop the ticks from being able to develop while you are trying to eliminate the infestation. You will use 1 oz of Permethrin + 1oz of Archer IGR per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft area. Do not make spot applications. Treat the entire area where exposure to ticks may occur. Use more water (not more product) when treating areas with dense ground cover or heavy leaf litter. Ticks may be reintroduced from surrounding areas on host animals. Retreatment may be necessary to achieve and/or maintain control during periods of high pest pressure. All of your dogs should be treated with a product that is specifically labeled for use on dogs for tick control.
You can also help by creating a "tick safe zone" in your yard. You should have an area that is at least 9 ft wide between your yard and any wooded area. Trim back trees to allow as much sunlight as possible into your yard. Keep grass as short. Remove as much leaf litter as possible. A clearly defined, well manicured border between your yard and any wooded areas or weedy lots will reduce the chance of ticks infesting your yard.
Cy-Kick CS cannot be used on anything edible. Something like Hi-Yield Malation would be a better option
There should be no "side effects" from Cy Kick CS if it is used according to the instructions on the product label. Children and pets should kept out of the area while the product is being applied and until everything is fully dry.
Cy-Kick CS is used to treat for flies including black flies when applied to the infected areas indoors or outdoors applied according to label.
Yes, Cy-Kick CS can be used outdoors for mosquito control. It is recommended that you treat the grass and shrubs where the mosquitoes are. Please see our Mosquito Treatment Guide for more tips and information on treating this pest.
