    Q
Is Cy-Kick the best you have for Scorpions?
I used Cy-Kick that I bought from here last weekend in a backpack sprayer with good pressure and spray coverage at 1oz per gal ratio. The good news is that the little bugs like crickets and such were all gone the next day. Two days later I see a scorpion hanging out on my foundation slab where I know that I sprayed well. The scorpion did not appear to be in distress at all. I believe it was looking for food. I used raid to spot spray it and that worked. I have also spotted more scorpions on my block walls but higher up (about 3-5 feet) than I sprayed Is this the best spray for scorpions? I have a bottle of Demon max that I also bought from this site I was thinking about trying next at 2oz per gal ratio.
    A

Yes, Cy-Kick is one of the best products that we have to treat for scorpions. We do recommend that you rotate to other products from time to time. You can rotate with Demand CS, which is another great choice. You have to create a wide barrier with it around your home, much more than you would for regular insects as scorpions' exoskeletons are harder to penetrate.

    Q
How does Cy-kick CS compare with Talstar (bifen) products?
    A
Cy-Kick CS and Talstar are both great products and are both very popular choices on our website.  Other than them both being different active ingredients and killing insects in different ways, they are both very effective and can be used indoors and outdoors and they are both very safe.  We would say that the main difference is that Cy-Kick CS is microencapsulated which means it will hold up a little better outdoors in UV light, probably about 3-4 weeks longer than Talstar.  Either one would be a good choice and really just depends on personal preference.

    Q
What is the 3-5mm long maggot-type thing with hair, the casings of which I find in my storage cupboards?
This creature seems to feed on other dead insects which I have collected, and even drilled holes in some mouse bait pellets I put there, leaving small piles of dust. It is the larvae of something, and I want to eliminate it, as the storage room has a strange musty smell, which I think is caused by the action of these creatures, in a used mattress which is in the spare room.
    A
It is almost impossible to tell you for sure what type of insect you have without seeing it. We can tell you that it is most likely the larva of some type of pantry beetle and from your description could possibly be a Dermestid Pantry Beetle Larvae. Dermestid beetles are a scavenger beetle that prefer to feed on dead tissue (insects, animals) but will also feed on grains (pasta, rodent bait, flour) when necessary. You need to inspect the infested room and discard all infested items. You should also thoroughly clean every crack and crevice of the room to help get rid of hidden larva as they are known to crawl away from infested items to pupate. After cleaning the room you can spray all of the cracks and crevices with a residual insecticide such as Cy-Kick CS. Please note that without finding and discarding the infested items you will not be able to get rid of the infestation.

My husband has got stung 3 or 4 times over the years and said it hurt a few seconds and went away so he aint flipn out like me.... any suggestions?
    A
Getting rid of scorpions requires a combination of both chemical and non-chemical measures. Think of non-chemical measures (such as vacuuming, sanitation, harborage removal, and exclusion) as limiting or removing conditions that contribute to the infestation. These measures are largely preventative but scorpion control cannot be achieved without them. The next step is to come in with the real ammunition, chemical pesticides, that do the job of physically wiping out an infestation. Cy-Kick CS is one of the most popular scorpion control products on the market. Cy-Kick CS insecticide concentrate is mixed with water and sprayed around the outside perimeter of the home for excellent scorpion control. Cy-Kick CS can also be sprayed indoors in select areas (keep indoor spraying to a minimum such as corners, under appliances, behind toilets, under sinks, cracks and crevices, along walls and corners in garages, basements, etc.) Use glue boards in areas of suspected activity to help monitor your progress.

    Q
Will Cy-Kick CS work on cockroaches?
    A

Cy-Kick CS is a great product and will do a great job towards helping you to get rid of roaches. For best results, we also recommend that you use a roach bait gel to help get rid of roaches in places where you cannot spray, along with an insect growth regulator (IGR) which helps stop the roaches breeding cycle.  You may want to consider using one of our Roach Control Kits, as they contain all of these products together. Pets and people need to be kept out of the area while products are being applied, but can return as soon as all surfaces are fully dry.  Please take a moment to look over our article on How to Get Rid of Roaches for more information on how to do a complete treatment for roaches.

    Q
How long does it take for Cy Kick CS to start working for killing roaches?
    A
Cy Kick will start working immediately on the roaches that come into contact with the treated surfaces. It is not a contact kill so they will not die as soon as they touch it, but it will start to work on their system and will start getting weaker and dying within a few hours of contact. Please keep in mind that if the roach infestation is large you will most likely need to use a roach IGR in conjunction with the Cy Kick to completely get rid of the problem. Using just an insecticide will often only knock back part of the roach colony without eliminating it in full. This is because since they do not die instantly after touching the product they still have time to reproduce before death occurs. So without the IGR you can often have a constant cycle of the roaches reproducing just as quickly as you are killing them. Take a look at our Roach Control Kits and our article on How To Get Rid of Roaches.

    Q
We have springtails coming out of the sink and bathtub in our apartment. Would you recommend Cy-Kick CS?
    A

Yes, Cy-Kick CS can be used indoors and outdoors for springtail control.  Spring tails can be tough to eliminate because they reproduce very quickly. In almost every case where people have spring tails they also have a moisture problem such as a leaking or sweating pipe, poor ventilation in their crawl space, lots of wet mulch right up next to their structure, etc. You must locate and correct the moisture problem to get rid of the spring tails, insecticides alone will not do the job. You may want to look over our article on How To Get Rid Of Springtails for more information on treating and preventing this pest.

    Q
Does Cy Kick CS kill roaches on contact?
    A

No,Cy-Kick CS does not kill roaches on contact. It is a residual product and kills over time. The residual is up to 30 days outdoors and 90 days indoors.

If you are looking for a contact kill, we would recommend using 565 PLUS XLO. This does not have a residual so once the product is dry, it is no longer working.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
