    Q
What should I use for a serious roach infestation?
I purchased Cy-Kick CS. Will this work? Also, is it safe for my dog?
    A

Cy-Kick CS is a great product and will do a great job towards helping you to get rid of roaches.  For best results, we also recommend that you use a roach bait gel to help get rid of roaches in places where you cannot spray, along with an insect growth regulator (IGR) which helps stop the roaches breeding cycle.  You may want to consider using one of our New York Roach Control Kits, as they contain all of these products together.  Pets and people need to be kept out of the area while products are being applied, but can return as soon as all surfaces are fully dry.  Please take a moment to look over our article on How to Get Rid of & Kill Roaches for more information on how to do a complete treatment for roaches.

    Q
Can you use Cy-Kick CS in a gas fireplace?
The area that I just moved into has a problem with bark scorpions so I just purchased Cy-Kick CS to prevent them from getting into my house. My backyard is surrounded by a cinder brick wall and my neighbor behind my yard has a Palm tree. An excellent entry point in my house would be the gas fire place. Can I spray in and around the gas fire place?
    A
Unfortunately none of the insecticides are labeled to treat inside a gas fireplace for safety issues and inhalation if the residual was heated up by the fire.  However, Cy-Kick CS is one of our best and most popular products for scorpions, and since scorpions enter the home from outside, a good exterior treatment around your home and around the outside of the fireplace should prevent them from getting in or coming through that area.

    Q
Can I use Cy-Kick in a Actisol Aerosol unit?
I'm not talking about using Foam
    A

When using an Actisol Compact Portable Aerosol Unit, we would not recommend that you use any wettable powders or a microencapsulated product. Cy-kick is a microencapsulated product so we would not recommend using it in your Actisol unit.

    Q
Is Cy-Kick safe to use indoors with cats present?
My exterminator ensured me that it was safe and my cats were following him as he sprayed. I wiped the door threshold after he left as the product hadn't dried and seemed oily ?
    A

CyKick CS is labeled as children and pet safe as we advise to refrain any children or pets from the area until the treated areahas completely dried for 1-2 hours after applying.

Cy-Kick CS is not labeled for use on gnats and would not be effective.  As an alternative you could use Tempo SC Ultra

    Q
What should we use to control an increase in scorpions inside buildings?
We have had an infestation (10-12 per day) of scorpions in our house after seeing only one or two over the last 30 years. We have heard of neighbors experiencing the same problem here in central Texas. Is there any explanation and what is the best treatment plan (which pesticides and recommended applications) to follow?
    A
The Cy-Kick CS is our number one product for scorpion control. You have to create a wide barrier with it around your home, much more than you would for regular insects as scorpions exoskeletons are harder to penetrate. You would spray 3 feet up on the side of the home, and 6-10 feet out on the ground, all the way around the foundation. Be sure to spray around window and door frames, as well as any other entry point the scorpions could use like areas where pipes enter the home. Anywhere around the home that you might have landscape mulch or rock is going to be a prime harboring area for the scorpions so be sure to saturate those areas and get under the mulch where they can hide. You can spray the Cy-kick inside around baseboards and cracks and crevices so that if they make it past the outside border of the home there is more insecticide waiting on them. To try and cut down the risk of getting stung in case they make it indoors, put down glue boards to catch them on around baseboards and doorways. As for the increase in population, it is mostly due to the fact that weather and conditions across the US have been prime for these type of pests, as well as others that they feed on, to grow and multiply rapidly. When conditions are moist and right due to heavy rains and warmer than normal winters like we have had, it is normal to see a huge surge in activity, especially for this year.

    Q
Where are the best places to use Cy-Kick, Delta Dust and/or Drione Dust when treating for scorpions?
We're moving to an area of Arizona outisde of Phoenix that is known to have frequent scorpion problems. I've already ordered several products to treat our new home (in addition to trying to seal the house and eliminate harborages in the yard). I've ordered Bifen granules to treat the yard and rock landscaping; Cy-Kick CS to treat around the foundation, the walls of the house, around bushes, and around baseboards and entry points inside the home; and both Drione Dust and Delta Dust to treat void spaces. So, I have a few questions: First, when treating with Cy-Kick inside the home, how and where do you spray most effectively for scoprions? Can Cy-Kick be applied in the attic as well? Second, when treating with Delta Dust and Drione dust, where are the most effective places to use each type of dust - both inside and outside the home? (I have read some sites that say to use a 50/50 mixture of drione and delta dust throughout the home. I've also seen some sites that say use Drione dust under cabinets and appliances, around switches, vents, and fixtures - and to use Delta Dust in the attic because insects will avoid Drione dust and using it in the attic may drive pests downward into living spaces. I'd never heard that before - and I certainly want to kill whatever is in the attic while it's in the attic without driving pests downstairs.) And is it overkill to both spray and dust in attic spaces, or to spray Cy-Kick around baseboards as well as applying dust under baseboards? Will both pesticides still be effective if used in the same place?
    A
When using Cy-Kick inside, you are applying to cracks and crevices around the room, along the baseboards, bottom of door frames, behind the toilet when the pipes come in, etc.  You would use either the Delta Dust or Drione Dust, we would not advise of using them together it would really be a waste of product.  The key is applying only a light dusting so that insects will not avoid it, if you can see the dust, so can they.  You would apply underneath baseboards, inside of cracks and crevices, and behind cabinets and in the attic around the vents and other cracks and crevices.  Please also read over our scorpion control article here

    Q
Cy-Kick CS vs Phantom vs Talstar. Which is the better all around product for perimeter pest control in MI?
    A
All of these products are excellent choices for general perimeter pest control. Talstar is our most popular product because it is so safe for both indoors/outdoors and even food handling areas - it dries clear and has no odor and has a very broad label. Phantom, on the other hand, has a powerful non-repellent active ingredient. Pests can't even detect Phantom, so they walk right over it and then spread it to other insects hidden behind walls or in their home colony, killing every other pest they come in contact with. Cy-Kick is one of the top products we recommend for scorpions and centipedes. It is hard to say which one is best because they are all excellent in their own way. Knowing which bugs you are targeting would help narrow down what type of product would be best for you. All in all - you will not go wrong with any of the three.
