Cy-Kick CS - Questions & Answers

All of these products are excellent choices for general perimeter pest control. Talstar is our most popular product because it is so safe for both indoors/outdoors and even food handling areas - it dries clear and has no odor and has a very broad label. Phantom, on the other hand, has a powerful non-repellent active ingredient. Pests can't even detect Phantom, so they walk right over it and then spread it to other insects hidden behind walls or in their home colony, killing every other pest they come in contact with. Cy-Kick is one of the top products we recommend for scorpions and centipedes. It is hard to say which one is best because they are all excellent in their own way. Knowing which bugs you are targeting would help narrow down what type of product would be best for you. All in all - you will not go wrong with any of the three.

Cy-Kick CS could be applied for mosquitoes.  However, because it is microencapsulated it would not have a very quick kill initially because the microcaps slowly release insecticide over time. This product has a long residual, but not a good first punch.  Our most popular product for mosquito control actually combines a good quick knock down with a long residual, and it is called Talstar P.  We have a great guide here as well Mosquito Control Article. We are not aware of anything being added to Cy-Kick nor the product that you mentioned. Being a microencapsulated product it would generally hold up very well on surfaces alone.

 

 

You can use hot water and any type of household cleaner to scrub the counters and get any spray off the surface.

We have had exemplary performance out of our Roach control kits.  The Roach Control Kit is perfect for roach control problems in homes and apartments. This professional kit includes 1 packet of Demon WP Insecticide (which makes 4 gallons of finished solution) for spraying the outside perimeter of the home and inside underneath appliances, behind cabinets, under toilets and sinks, etc. You'll also get 4 x 35 gram tubes of Invict Gold Roach Bait Gel--one of the best roach baits on the market. Invict Gold can be applied up high in the kitchen in the corner of cabinets and in cracks and crevices in kitchens and bathrooms. The bait contains a slow-acting poison that attracts and kills feeding roaches, who also spread the bait to other roaches by contact or by sharing food. Finally, 20 Gentrol Point Source stations provide an IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) that will stop roaches from laying eggs, helping to halt the infestation. The combination of an IGR with roach bait is a highly effective roach control strategy that is widely used by pest control professionals. Demon WP must be applied with a 1 gallon pump sprayer, like the Chapin 1 gallon sprayer.

We recommend that you get a proper identification of the beetle. It would be extremely odd to have carpet beetles in your car and in your office because they must have a food source that is of animal origin to survive and most cars and business offices do not have such a source. You should collect several samples of the insect and contact your local cooperative extension office to get an insect identification. Starting a treatment program without knowing exactly what you are dealing with is likely to lead to a treatment failure. Cy Kick CS per the product label can not be used in any type of cold or hot fogging device. Using it that way would either alter the effectiveness or clog/break your fogging unit. The Cy Kick CS is definitely the right product to use for scorpion control, however fogging would not be an accurate treatment option for this type of pest even if this product could be used in that application. Spraying under the crawlspace on every area you can reach would be the best way to control the scorpions, as well as creating a barrier around the foundation of the structure to prevent new ones from coming in. When spraying around the home/building for scorpions you will want to create a barrier 2-3 feet up on the side of the structure, and 6-10 feet out on the ground from the foundation. Since scorpions have such thick exoskeletons it takes more treated surface area for them to cross for the product to affect them. Also, try to eliminate any area around the home that create prime grounds for scorpions to thrive. The Cy Kick will not only eliminate the scorpions, but also the insects that they are feeding on as well which will push them to find food sources elsewhere. We would recommend spraying a wide swath of Cy-Kick CS around the base of the tree and then also thoroughly spraying several feet up the tree to help control the scorpions. We would further recommend looking at the reason the scorpions are so attracted to that particular tree. Is there a lot of mulch or rocks around the base that should be removed? Is there an insect population in that tree that the scorpions are feasting on? Are you watering your lawn near this tree too much? Is there leaf debris or piled up lumber near the tree? By looking at and modifying your property you can make it less favorable to scorpions. Scorpions are at any given place for three reasons: food, shelter and moisture. If you can remove or reduce any one of these needs you will reduce or eliminate the scorpions as well.

With most concentrated insecticides, including Cy kick CS, you want to be sure to use all of the mixed solution within 24 hours of diluting as the product will start to lose it's efficacy. To eradicate crickets, you want to use a residual spray like Cy-kick Cs. You want to do a perimeter treatment outdoors, and apply indoors along cracks and crevices, and entry points. You can also use a dust like Delta Dust to apply in wall voids.
