Cyper TC when applied as a trench will stay in the soil about 3 years.
No, Cyper TC cannot be mixed with with malathion. It is never a good idea to try to mix insecticides unless the label instructions clearly state that you can do so. Mixing insecticides can cause them to not work properly.
We cannot be certain of how much and where exactly it was treated and the distance of the well. We recommend that you contact the pest control company and manufacturer (Control Solutions 800-281-2500) for information on the treatment applied to your home.
This could take time (many factors-when they actually reach the treated space to eradication) as Cyper TC is not immediate and will only eradicate those that come in contact with the treated areas during the four week residual. If you are treating for ants, baiting is very effective. Please check out our Ant Control Kits and treatment article for helpful tips.
For most general pest control applications, you will use 0.5 fl oz of Cyper TC per gallon of water. Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions.
Yes, Cyper TC can be applied with a hose end sprayer.
The Chapin Wet / Dry Hose-End Sprayer #6005 or Ortho Dial N Spray Hose End Sprayer would be a decent choice for hose end sprayer applications. For the most accurate application, we suggust using a hand pump sprayer as calibrating the hose end sprayer to disburse the right amount of product per gallon of water is not always the most accurate.
No Cyper TC can not be sprayed on asphalt or pavement to treat for fleas. No insecticides are labeled for that type of use. Apply to all the surrounding areas to treat for the fleas (ie lawn, ornamentals, landscaped areas, etc.).
No, Cyper TC and Suspend SC cannot be mixed together and used indoors for roach control. Cyper TC is not labeled for use indoors for roach control. We recommend that you use our one of our Roach Control Kits for indoor treatment of roaches.
Cyper TC should not be used around bodies of water as it is toxic to aquatic life. A good choice for general insect control on a dock around a pond would be Essentria IC3.
Unfortunately there is not a product on the market that is labeled or recommended for hookworms so we cannot recommend using Cyper TC to treat them. While some insecticides that are labeled for turf or lawn infesting insect may work, there has not been enough research to add hookworms to the product labels and none would kill the eggs. We recommend that all animals be moved out of the contaminated area for at least 1 year (during warm spring/summer months, longer during cool winter/fall months) and all feces be removed. Keeping the animals out of the contaminated area for at least 1 year should help control the infestation pattern. It is also important to remove feces from the new latrine area to avoid another infestation. Another option is to remove the contaminated soil and replace if you cannot keep out for 1 year
Cyper TC is not labeled for use indoorsfor general pest control.
Cyper TC only has a residual of about 30 days outside and 90 days inside on surfaces so would not provide a full year of killing insects and there is not an insecticide that would do so.
Cyper TC may be harmful to honeybees if they come into contact with a treated surface. We suggest applying the product when honeybees are not active.
Yes, you can use Cyper TC for this treatment, but you do need to keep applications at least 20 feet away from the well.
You should be careful that Cyper TC does not get on porous surfaces like concrete since it is very oily. However, you should be able to wash the area with warm water, or use some soap or a scrubbing product like mineral salts if really needed (be sure you do not use anything that may harm a sealed driveway if you have one). If you have a serious spill, you can view instructions on the Safety Data Sheet here.
Cyper TC only lasts about 90 days on the surface of wood, though it would not be recommended to make anything from the treated wood that would contact food unless you apply an appropriate sealant after.
Cyper TC should be mixed at 5.1 oz to 122 oz of water (1 gallon of finished solution) for a 0.1% emulsion.
Cyper TC should not discolor anything when mixed properly. If you are concerned about sensitive surfaces, then you can test a small inconspicuous area, or you can stick with a water-based insecticide. We have a great Carpenter Bee Control Kit here which includes spray, dust, hand duster, and plugs to fill the holes.
