  • Asked by Jan from Rohnert Park, Ca

    Q
Will Cyzmic CS kill bird mites?
    A

Cyzmic CS is a great all around general insecticide that can be used for many insects. While bird mites specifically are not on the label mites in general are, and it can be used in areas where mites may be found. Be sure to remove all nesting materials and birds from the area to ensure that the host and source is eliminated so you can get any lingering mites controlled quickly. Spray the areas outside the home where the nest was found and surrounding surfaces, and if any have made their way in the home during this process you can use the Cyzmic around baseboards and crevices and window and door frames.

    Q
Will Cyzmic CS Controlled Release Insecticide kill poultry mites?
The mites seem to build up a resistance to most product ingredients in a very short time so have to keep changing products. Would like your product as one of my alternates but doesn't list poultry mites or northern fowl mites on the label.
    A

No, Cyzmic CS Controlled Release Insecticide is not labeled for “mites” in general, only labeled for spider or clover mites.

    Q
Should I apply Cyzmic CS before winter or in the spring?
    A

Cyzmic CS may be applied every 30 days outdoors and every 90 days indoors. You can apply it up until mid to late fall before reaching freezing temperatures and begin treatments again in the spring, once you're out of the freezing temperatures and the ground is not frozen or no longer has any snow.

  • Asked by Loren from Florence, Az Koo

    Q
Is Cyzmic CS safe to use around lizards?
I want to kill the ants, but don't want to hurt my native lizards.
    A

Cyzmic CS should not harm lizards.  However, it will reduce the insect population in the area, which may also reduce the lizard population as they will be forced to go elsewhere to find food.

  • Asked by Billy from Watkinsville Ga

    Q
Can Cyzmic CS Controlled Release Insecticide be used for killing fleas around dog kennels?
    A

Yes, Cyzmic CS Controlled Release Insecticide can be applied to kennels, yards, runs, and other areas where pets may frequent to control fleas. We also recommend adding an insect growth regulator to help stop the flea cycle in your yard. IGR's work to help stop juvenile fleas (eggs and pupa) from developing into sexually mature adults. You can purchase our Outdoor/Indoor flea kit which contains both products that you will need for outdoor flea treatments. Dogs must be kep out of the area during application but can return once dry.

  • Asked by Keith from Houston, Tx

    Q
How do you measure out Cyzmic CS properly?
    A

When measuring out the Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide you will only remove the cap off of the measuring reservoir.  This is a squeeze and pour bottle, so you will squeeze the main section of the bottle until the product travels up the outside straw to the reservoir and fills to the desired measurement line.  At which point you would stop squeezing the bottle, then pour the measured amount out into your pump sprayer to mix with your gallon of water.  Agitate to mix, pump up the sprayer and you are ready to make your application.

    Q
What is best to use for stink bugs outside the home, on siding, soffiits etc?
I've heard Talstar P and Demand CS. Also, which dust should I apply my attic and garage?
    A
We recommend you check out our Stink Bug Control Kit. This kit includes the products we recommend for stinkbugs; Demon WP insecticide with Cypermethrin, Eco PCO dust and a bellow hand duster for easy application. It is recommended that you begin treatments in early fall when they begin foraging in your home. Apply the products monthly during August through November for better control. We also carry an excellent indoor trap for stink bug control called the Strube Stink Bug Trap.

  • Asked by Sarah from Menasha, Wisconsin
    05/27/2018
    Q
What would be the best preventive product to deter wasps from building nests in a cedar fence?
    A

Spraying fences down with a general insecticide like Cyzmic CS would be a great way to try and deter nests from being built in crevices along the fence.  Cyzmic is a residual insecticide that, once dry, will continue to kill insects that come into contact with it. Focus your spray where they land, and they will pick up the product on their bodies and feet and slowly die from it.  It may take time to drop a large wasp population, but treating where they normally build nests will help reduce the number in the area and hopefully stop them before they really get a chance to get a new nest started.

Is Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide safe to use around koi ponds?
I have a courtyard that has a koi pond and it is crawling with spiders. They are in the corners, in the windows, etc., etc. i need a residual spray that I can use. It would be great if the spray didn't leave a residue on the walls or sliding glass doors.
    A

Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide should not be applied within 25 ft of any body of water or koi ponds. It is highly toxic to fish including koi.

  • Asked by Rick from Cedar Rapids, Ia

    Q
Can I use Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide for roaches?
My mother-in-law have a roach problem, pretty bad. You can literally sit on the porch and watch them walk on in from the neighbors. I was wondering if I could just use this to treat the problem?
    A

Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide certainly can be used for roaches, but if the infestation is severe, it is not likely that just using an insecticide by itself will completely control them.  It is usually necessary to use an insect growth regulator (IGR) along with a roach bait gel as well.  We normally recommend using one of our Roach Control Kits so that you will have everything you need to eradicate a roach infestation.  You may want to look over our Roach Control Guide for more information on how to kill and prevent roaches.

  • Asked by Tom from Scottsdale, Az

    Q
What shall I use to spray on outside of house foundation to prevent spiders entering?
I intend to spray on the ground just at the intersection of the foundation to prevent spiders from coming in my house
    A

Cyzmic CS would be a great product as a barrier spray to kill insects that contact the treated surface.  While there is not a product that will keep them out, sealing up all cracks and crevices that allow them entry is best way to prevent insects inside.  We also have a great general pest prevention guide that can help.

  • Asked by Carol from Phoenix, Az
    04/10/2017
    Q
What is good general insecticide to use in a desert landscape around with a swimming pool nearby? I'm concerned about runoff from rain water flowing into the pool.
    A

You can use a product like Cyzmic CS to treat this type of area.  You do want to apply about 24 hours before you are expecting any rain.  After that point there should be no issue with rainwater causing the product to run off into the pool.

  • Asked by Ken from Morristown, Nj
    03/16/2017
    Q
Can I apply Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide outdoors if there is snow on the ground?
    A

No, you need the ground to be dry when applying Cyzmic CS- Micro-encapsulated Insecticide since you want it to completely be able to dry on the area you are applying it in. The product cannot adhere to wet surfaces, The ground should be completely or close to completely dry when the application takes places so that the product stays where you are applying it.

  • Asked by Josue from San Tan Valley
    01/07/2017
    Q
At what rate do you mix Cyzmic CS to treat for scorpions?
Just wondering how many mL per gallon for the best residual control for scorpions.
    A

The mixing ratio for Cyzmic CS is 0.2 - 0.8 oz. per gallon of water. This is 6-24 mL. We would recommend using the higher ratio (24 mL) per gallon of water for scorpions. This product will last for 30 days outdoors and 90 days indoors.

  • Asked by M. from Cincinnati, Oh
    10/18/2014
    Q
Can Cyzmic be mixed with Onslaught in the same hand pump sprayer? Or should I use these separately?
    A
These products should not be mixed together. There is no valid reason to mix Onslaught and Cyzmic together.  They are both synthetic pyrethroids so there would be nothing to gain by mixing these products together. Making a pesticide too strong can actually backfire. Areas that are treated with this overly concentrated spray will be repellent and insects will simply avoid the treated areas prolonging the infestation
