    Q
When using Demand, can you spray this near bushes and shrubs and on grass?
Also, using this product in the home, where should you spray? Can you get some spray on the carpeting? I love this product and have had a professional use it twice a year and now I would like to save some money and try it myself. Can you provide some helpful hints in HOW to spray around the inside and outside of the house! Thanks in advance for your help!
    A
Yes, you can apply Demand CS on and around bushes and shrubs and on grass. In fact you want to spray around the outside perimeter 2-3 feet up and out. Indoors you want to spray cracks, crevices, baseboards. It will not stain should a small amount land on carpeting.

    Q
Can I mix Demand CS and Cy-Kick CS together to make a "super" insecticide?
We live in Phoenix, AZ (Central Phoenix) and we have a huge...I mean HUGE bark scorpion problem. We have had the second warmest winter in AZ history and the scorpions are already out and mating. I have cleaned up the property, raked, yard work, etc. I normally use Cy-Kick-CS mixed on the high concentrated side. I also use the DeltaGard G Granules - 20 lb. bag all around the exterior perimeter of my house and back yard. I also started spraying the brick wall perimeter in my backyard. I used to go out at night with a black light and kill 15-20 scorpions every night...EVERY Night. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I hate scorpions. The problem has improved, but not as much as I would like.
    A

There is no valid reason to mix Cy Kick CS and Demand CS together, it would not make either product work better or produce better results, though it could make treated areas repellent to insect lessening the effectiveness of the treatment. We would recommend applying the Cy Kick CS and using glue boards also. Please refer to the article below for additional tips on treatment of scorpions including non-chemical methods that help in addition to the product. Q
What will help with stink bugs in an attic?
Can you use demand cs in attics were stink bugs are bad .I think they like going under insulation. If I spraying the insulation will it work to kill stink bugs ??? Thanks
    A
You can use Demand CS is in the attic to help control the stinkbugs. Only the stinkbugs that come in contact with treated areas will be killed. We mention this because many of these pests will remain hidden and will not come out until it really starts to warm up so you may have pretty mixed results.

    Q
Can I spray my back patio off 24 hours after Demand CS was applied, or will it wash off the product?
Also does mopping wash it off?
    A

If you plan to clean an area where you are going to spray a residual insecticide such as Demand CS, then it would be best to do your cleaning first and then apply the insecticide. This will not only ensure that you are spraying on the actual suface (rather than on top of dust/debris), but it will also prevent unecessary removal of your insecticide. Mopping or other abrasive cleaning will remove most if not all of your residual, so do these treatments before spraying for best results.

Keep in mind that Demand CS and other pyrethroids should not be sprayed over the entire surface of a deck or other hard surface. Keep to perimeter treatments and spot treatments where target insects are found.

    Q
    Does Demand CS kill maggots?
    A

Demand CS is not labeled for maggots. If you are experiencing maggots, we suggest locating the source and treating the source with an appropriate insecticide and also thoroughly cleaning the area.

  • Asked by Gary from Hockley, Tx
    06/10/2013
    Q
Can I use Demand Cs as a general out/inside spray?
I have been using Demand CS and mixing it with demon WP (9.5 gram packet) and .5 oz of Precor about 3 times annually. I spray all around the outside base of the house and the eves to create a 'barrier'. Hardly ever inside. It seems to work as I see practically no pests - ever. But am I over-killing here?
    A
You can not mix Demand CS and Demon WP together as they are both pyrethroids and will likely decrease the effectiveness of each other. Just use one or the other for spraying around your home and you can alternate the products every other spray if you would like. Using 1/2 ounce of Precor is neither a proper dosage to use, nor does it affect any insect other than fleas. If you are wanting to use an IGR to control the reproduction of other insects you would need something like NyGuard IGR as this will cover a large range of insects and last up to 5 months where as the Precor when used at the proper 1 ounce dose will only last 14 days. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Q
Is Demand CS poisonous to horses?
We have a stink bug problem and want to try Demand CS around our house. Is it also safe to use around our barn where the horses are?
    A
Demand CS is labeled to be used in barns and other animal housing structures but the animals must be out of the area while the application is being made and they can return to the area once it is dried. Demand CS should only be used in cracks and crevices and care should be taken to make sure over-spray does not contact feed and water supplies or feed/watering dishes. Be sure to read the Demand CS product label for complete application instructions.

    Q
Which is better for perimeter outside Demand CS or Termidor Sc?
    A

Demand CS would be a great choice for general pest control for common insects found in and around the home.  It can be applied every 90 days indoors and every 30 days outdoors. Termidor SC should ONLY be applied once every 6 months directly up against the structure on the exterior of foundation (1 ft up and 1 ft out). You should NOT apply Demand CS in the areas where you apply Termidor SC.  Please refer to the product label prior to mixing and applying for complete usage instructions.

    Q
Rotating Demand CS and Termidor SC
I plan to mostly use Demand CS for insect control on the outside of the house. Demand CS has been awesome, but I read on the label that there is always a possibility of insects building a resistance to it. So I thought I would also use Termidor SC to treat the outer foundation and walls of my home, every so often. Two questions: Is this a good idea? Can I use the same hand pump sprayer for both Demand CS and Termidor SC at different times?
    A

Termidor SC is applied only twice a year on the outside of the home depending on the rate used.  Rotating it often with the Demand CS would null the non repellent factor of the Termidor.  Most choose to use the Termidor outside and the Demand inside in cracks and crevices.  Resistance can take years to build up.

    Q
    Using Demand CS around herbs.
We are having a professional company apply Demand on our yard to get rid of fire ants. I will dig up my herbs prior to the application. When would it be safe to replant the herbs after the application of Demand? Or should I not replant at all?
    A
We would not recommend replanting in the area that has been treated with Demand CS. You can apply the product around the herbs, just not directly in the herb garden.

  • Asked by Chris from Winnipeg
    07/14/2013
    Q
Does Demand CS work on anthills?
    A
Yes, Demand CS will work on ant hills and you would want to do a mound drench on each to ensure the entire colony is affected. Mix the required amount of Demand to each gallon of water and drench each mound with 1-2 gallons of mixed solution to ensure it penetrates through the soil to the full depth of the mound and affects the queen. Just spraying over the top can often only affect half of the colony, and as the queen notices the death taking place around her, she will pick up and move and shut herself off from the colony and start a new one. If dealing with fire ants in particular, we recommend using a product that will affect the colony more as as whole like Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait. It not only is a food source that they will take back and feed to the colony including the queen, but it also contains a birth control to ensure no further colony growth. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Asked by Joan from Longdale, Ok

    Q
How do I kill grasshoppers and not bees and butterflies and my outside cats?
I use the nolo bait in most of my yard and I have chickens to get the stragglers. but I have part of my yard fenced off to keep the chickens out of my flowers and it is being over run by adult grasshoppers. I do the catch and kill every nite, but not enough as it sounds like bb's hitting the house when I walk around it. I have outside kitties and butterflys and bees that I don't want to harm what would you suggest? I need help fast. I have open fields on all 4 sides of me so it is a neverending battle
    A

If it's the area that's fenced off, you can spray Demand CS around the yard and flowers but avoid the blooms or areas where bees and butterflies land so it won't be harmful to them.

  • Asked by William from West Monroe, La
    04/18/2018
    Q
Will Demand CS kill soil dwelling insects and flying insects?
I am trying to find a product that can control grubs and other ground insects that tear up my lawn. I have a 17,000 sq ft lawn and would like to use something that can be used with my Gilmour hose end sprayer. Also, can this product take the place of both Talstar P (flying insects) and Imidapro 2SC (soil insects) if I spray it in my yard?
    A

Demand CS is not labeled for grubs but we do offer products that are effective. Demand CS is listed for flying and crawling insects. Please take a few moments to review our article on How to Get Rid of Grubs for the best results. You would treat the flying and crawling insects with either Demand CS or Talstar P. Talstar P is not labeled for grubs also.

When applying ImidaPro 2SC for grub control, it is important to use sufficient water when applying to move the active ingredient through the thatch layer of grass into the soil where the insects will be or are feeding as soon as possible. This is usually an extra 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch of rainfall or irrigation with the application. As long as you do not have excessive rainfall while the application is still wet, and/or the ground is not saturated, then you should have residual activity for several weeks following the application.

To control White grub larvae, (such as Japanese beetle larvae, Chafers, Phyllophaga spp., Asiatic garden beetle, Oriental beetle) apply 0.46 to 0.6 fluid ounces (14 to 17 mL) per 1,000 sq. ft. Make broadcast applications by mixing specified rate in enough water to uniformly cover the treated area. Do not use less than 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions.

    Q
Can Demand CS Insecticide be applied over the top of a pool cage screen enclosure?
Is it a violation of the label to apply demand cs all over a pool cage screen enclosure even above the pool incuding to the top of the pool aluminum framing? In essence applying it as a broadcast application not being able to control drift or have control of a specific targeted area?
    A

Demand CS can be applied to surfaces of buildings, porches, screens, window frames, eaves, patios, garages, refuse dumps, and other similar areas where these insect pests are active. If spraying over a swimming pool, propert measures would need to be taken by covering the pool while spraying to avoid overspray from contaminating the water.

    Q
Will Demand CS kill butterflies if they land on it? Are there bugs that are resistant to Demand CS?
    A

The Demand CS label does not list butterfiles on the labels, however, to be sure you are not contacting them while applying, apply in the early morning or late evening when bees, butterflies and many other insects are less active in the area.

    Q
Some bird mites persist 2 days after treatment with Suspend Polyzone. Can we use Demand now?
    A
You want to wait 21 days to reapply. You do not want to over apply as it can irritate the mites causing them to frenzy. You can also use Sterifab as an on contact kill in the mean time.
