    Q
If Demand G does not get rid of pavement (or sugar) ants what would be a good follow up treatment?
I have pavement ants getting into my house, I had a year and a half treatments from a paid pest guy to no improvement. I have treated 25-30 feet around my house 3 weeks ago now am seeing a few ants here and there
    A

If you are having problems with ants after granules, you can try a perimeter spray such as Alpine WSG. Consider looking at the Outdoor Ant Kit that contains an insecticide for the exterior periemeter of the home, sweet ant bait, granule ant bait and bait stations for easy baitng in landscape beds and outdoor areas around the lawn.

Take a moment to view our Pavement Ant Treatment Guide for addtional information (**please note some difference in the insecticides and bait recommendations may vary, our Kits contain the most up to date product recommendations)

    Q
My husband put out some Demand G Granules outside for roaches, I have chickens that free range in my backyard, will this harm them?
    A

The Demand G Granules does not specifically mention livestock or poulty use on the label. For pets, it states after the product has been lightly watered in and had time to dry, it is safe for re-entry. We would suggest only applying this as a band around the exterior of the home or using the liquid Demand CS for treating roaches.

    Q
Can I use Demand G Granules for spider mites on my crepe myrtles and my lawn?
    A

Demand G Granules is not a systemic product. It is labeled to treat spider mites and mites in general for turf, but it would not treat these pests on the trees, shrubs, etc. since it must be watered in to be activated. Unfortunately, there are no systemic products that will treat for spider mites: you must do a topical treatment for this pest. Our most popular product to treat spider mites on trees and other ornamentals is Talstar P. If you have an aggressive or well-established population, and you need multiple treatments, then you will want to rotate with another type of product such as Avid Miticide.

    Q
Would it be helpful to treat the dirt with Demand G Granules for chinch bugs prior to laying of sod?
    A

Yes, you can apply Demand G Granules before laying down sod. This will treat the ground in the area or up to three months. However, be aware that it would not treat the actual so should there be any chich bugs in that when it is put in. You would need to make another application to the sod  if this were the case.

    Q
Will Demand G Granules work against wolf spiders?
    If not, any recommendations?
    A

Granules such as Demand G Granules generally are not labeled to control spiders such as wolf spiders, so we would not recommend this as a direct treatment for spiders. Granules are applied to the lawn and landscape areas and then watered in, so most of the active ingredient is down in near or in the thatch and soil where spiders won't really contact it. This can certainly help to control some of the insects that the spiders may be hunting, however it is not likely to affect spiders that have already made their homes on or in the structure. We would suggest a liquid concentrate for use around the perimeter of the structure and in areas where spiders are likely to gather, such as Suspend Polyzone. Polyzone has a unique polymer formulation that protects the active ingredient from weathering and keeps it accessible to target pests on porous surfaces. Please take a few moments to review our Spider Treatment and General Pest Prevention articles for more tips about the non-chemical steps that are important in reducing spider populations.

    Q
Is Demand G granules better than Talstar Granules?
    A
It is hard to specifically answer your question as you did not state if there is a particular insect you are treating for. In general both products are going to be comparable in both insect control and length of time for residual.

    Q
Will I have to dig underneath the plastic and stone to apply Demand G Granules for millipedes?
Is this a sure thing to kill millipedes? Bought many products don't work on millipedes.
    A
Demand G is labeled for millipede control and will help you limit their numbers greatly. According to the Demand G product label: "For optimal control, remove debris and leaf litter from next to the foundation, cut back vegetation and branches that touch the foundation, and move or rake back rocks, deep mulch, or other potential pest harborage areas next to the foundation prior to application". You should not rely solely on chemical control. There are ways to modify the environment immediately around your home to discourage insects from moving in. Please take a few moments to read our article How to Get Rid of Millipedes to learn how to make your property less desirable to this pest.
