Demon Max can have some knockdown properties, but it is not considered a contact kill product. It is a residual insecticide that once dry will last on the surface 90 days indoors and 30 days outdoors. However, this product is not labeled for gnats. You could use a product like Talstar P. You may want to look over our article on Getting Rid of Gnats for more information.
Demon Max is labeled for roaches, and you may mix this product with an insect growth regulator such as Gentrol for better control. You do not need to mix Demon Max with another insecticide. When applying these products indoors, we recommend also using a professional roach bait gel in areas where you cannot spray.
Please review our Roach Control Guide for more information on treating and preventing roaches.
Yes, Demon Max is labeled for wasps.
Demon Max is not specifically labeled to control armyworms. Instead, you may use a product such as Talstar P. Please be sure to review the product label for more information and complete application instructions.
Demon Max is labeled for flies and there is not another insecticide we would recommend mixing with it. ExciteR could be added to it to give a faster knockdown during initial application though. Horseflies and many other species of biting flies tend to develop on the edge of bodies of water and since they are strong fliers these breeding areas can be near or far which makes finding the source next to impossible. Using Demon Max will give some relief but since these flies can fly over treated areas it can be tough to get complete control. Relief should be on the way soon, however as horsefly season is usually only 3-6 weeks long.
It will be difficult for any product to last over 30 days in extreme heat and direct sunlight, however, we would recommend an encapsulated product for the longest residual. Demon Max has an oil base, while the Bifen IT is a water-based insecticide (Bifen XTS is oil-based). It may last a bit longer than Bifen IT, but would have similar residual to Bifen XTS. Great options for longer residual in more severe weather would be either Suspend Polyzone or Cyzmic CS.
Yes, Demon Max will work for spiders, including brown recluse. Please take a look at our Spider Control Guide for more information on treating and preventing this pest.
Demon Max is not labeled to be used to treat for mites. We advise to find the source of the infestation and removing the infested nest and doing a thorough cleanup is necessary. For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstry and dispose of the bag of vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use Cimexa Dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3-4 days for effective control. Onslaught can be used for a faster knockdown. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray using a hand pump sprayer to infested cracks and crevices around the perimeter of each room. Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs. We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it could take several months to get rid of all the mites. Finding and removing the source of the infestation is very important and is the key to getting rid of the mites.
Yes, Demon Max is labeled to control chiggers. You can use either a hose end or a hand pump sprayer to apply. You will need to use 1/2 oz. of Demon Max per gallon of water for chiggers.
