    Q
Can you spray Demon Max down a drain to kill fruit flies?
    A

You cannot use Demon Max down a drain. Demon Max can only be used for crack and crevice and spot treatments; in, on, and around structures and buildings; on lawns, turf, vegetation, and soil; surrounding and under building foundations.

If you are trying to treat for your fly and drain problem please refer to and use the Drain Fly Kit. The Drain Fly Kit with Invade Bio Drain Gel will treat up to two infested drains and includes CB-80 Aerosol to control nuisance flies during the treatment process, plus 12 Catchmaster 100i Insect Monitors (Pack of 4 boards that split) to monitor infested drains. CB-80 Aerosol will shoot out in quick misting spurts that will allow you to spot treat around sinks and drains and in open areas.

    Q
Can I use Demon Max inside the house? I bought an old home and I don't know if there are termites in it.
Can I use Demon Max inside the house? I bought an old home and I don't know if there are termites in it. Also, there are a lot of spiders there too that I want to get rid of. Also, when is the best time to apply for termites and spiders? The house is in Missouri and I would like to treat it now but it is very cold here. Would that be beneficial?
    A

While Demon Max will kill most termites and spiders that contact it, this would not be our recommendation for termite control. Please see our Termite Guide.  Demon Max can be applied indoors to cracks and crevices. Please be aware since it's oil based it may leave an oily residue. You can always treat indoors. Outdoors, if the ground is frozen, or temps are below freezing or around freezing, it may be best to wait.

  • Asked by Bill from Enterprise, Al
    07/22/2017
    Q
Is Demon Max a good product to use for mole cricket control? If so, what is a good surfactant to use with the product?
    A

For residential lawns, apply Demon Max at the rate of 0.33-0.65 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft in a volume of water sufficient for uniform coverage such as 3-20 gal for mole crickets. Use the lower rate to knock down pests and the higher rate where faster knockdown or greater residual is desired. The maximum application rate on lawns and other turfgrass is 0.44 lb ai/A (0.0101 lb ai/1,000 sq ft). Lawn should not be longer than 3 inches at the time of application. You can add a surfactant to the mixture for more effective results.

  • Asked by Dustin from Breaux Bridge, La

    Q
Will Demon Max kill termites in my barn?
I was thinking of trenching my whole barn on the inside and flooding the trench with Demon Max. Will this take care of my termite problem? Also, what mixture ratio do you recommend for this? They are destroying anything I leave on the ground.
    A

Demon Max would only kill termites that contact the treated soil, but is not labeled or designed to be used to trench the entire ground area of a barn or prevent termites from infesting items placed on the ground.  The best product for trenching is the Taurus SC, this would be done along the outside wall of the barn and along the inside wall to protect the barn itself.  Taurus SC is a non repellent insecticide that will help to eliminate the colonies below ground if you are dealing with subterranean termites. You would also want to treat the beams and rafters, and other unpainted/unstained wood of the stalls/tackrooms, etc. with something like Boracare if treating/preventing drywood termites.  You can spray or paint the mixture on.  There is not much that you can do to prevent them attacking items left on the ground other than avoiding leaving them there. The main concern with termites is generally protecting the bigger investment, the barn itself.

We have a step-by-step guide that will walk you through how to do your own termite trenching treatment. You can see the guide by clicking on the link here.

  • Asked by Dan from Edgerton, Wi

    Q
With the Demon Max being oil based, will it stain siding?
Since this is oil based will it stain siding that is 5 years old? I am dealing with a large infestation of boxelder bugs and Asian Beetles. I do have boxelder trees on the foliage line my property backs up to. .25 acre lots. Houses about 15 feet apart. Would my neighbors need to combat bugs also? Would also like to combat mosquitoes. Do you have any suggestions before I buy this product?
    A

If you have older siding and are wanting to treat for boxelder bugs and other overwintering pests on the side of the home, as well as mosquitoes and various other insects, we would not suggest going with the Demon Max. The oils in the product are very likely to stain the side of the home. We would suggest going with a product like Talstar P instead since it will dry clear, there will be no risk of staining or discoloring, it is low odor and can be used for overwintering pests as well as mosquitoes and others. Talstar is mixed between 0.5 - 1 oz per gallon of water and can be used monthly or quarterly for pest control. If your neighbors are not treating then yes that will certainly make your applications a bit more of an uphill battle so try to encourage them to treat as well or see if they will allow you to treat the main areas of insect populations as well. You can spray trees and bushes for boxelder and beetle control to help reduce the numbers that make their way to your home.

    Q
How much water do I need to mix Demon Max with for a pint to treat roaches?
    A

Demon Max is mixed at a rate of 1/2 to 1 fl oz per gallon of water which is how it is best mixed.  For a pint you would use 1/8 of either of those rates, a very small amount.

    Q
Does Demon Max stop working after it dries?
I have just heard that it stops working after it dries and it only kills roaches or bugs when it's wet...
    A

No, Demon Max does not stop working once it has dried. This is a residual product, which means it will continue to kill insects after your application has dried. It will provide approximately a 30 days residual outdoors, and a 90 days residual indoors.

  • Asked by Jason from Fort Lauderdale, Florida

    Q
What should I do now that I treated my couch with Demon Max? What happens with overapplication?
I sprayed 2 times in the same 24 hrs. I sprayed my entire couch so do I have to throw out the couch? I was finding ticks in my couch because the dogs would sometimes sleep on my couch.
    A

Demon Max is not to be applied on surfaces that come in contact with the skin or on the surface area of the couch. Please contact the manufacturer for instructions on the treatment/cleaning of the couch. They can be reached at 866.796.4368.

We recommend the following for treatment of ticks:

Make sure the property around your home is unattractive to ticks. Because ticks are sensitive to dry conditions and do not thrive in short vegetation, they are seldom a problem in well-maintained lawns. Keep your grass mowed and keep weeds cut. Clean up items that attract rodents which can carry ticks, such as spilled birdseed, and hiding places like old wood piles. If ticks are present in vegetation along the edge of the property, insecticides labeled for control of ticks can be applied to small areas of high weeds that cannot be mowed. Often, one or two applications per season will be adequate to control ticks in these areas.

Free-roaming dogs and cats are much more likely to encounter ticks than those that are confined to the home or yard. If ticks are found on pets, contact your veterinarian for information about an appropriate tick treatment. Remove the occasional tick found indoors by vacuuming, seal the vacuum bag and place it in the trash. Owners of kennels or homes infested with the brown dog tick may wish to contact a professional pest control company for assistance.

  • Asked by George from Seattle,

    Q
Can you mix with Suspend Polyzone for perimeter outdoor coverage?
I would like to mix max strength Suspend Polyzone with max strength Demon Max for all outdoor applications?
    A
We would not recommend mixing Suspend Polyzone and Demon Max. They are both insecticides. You will use one or the other. If you are looking to add more of a kick to your insecticide, we would recommend using ExciteR Pyrethrin Concentrate. This will give you a faster knockdown, but it does not have any type of residual effect. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Q
Is Demon Max going to get rid of my bed bugs?
I sprayed twice and I still see bed bugs.
    A

Demon Max is not labeled for bedbugs. We suggest applying the products in one of our Bedbug Kits. It will take non-chemical and chemical efforts for a minimum of 6-8 weeks to eliminate this insect. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Bedbugs for information on a successful eradication program.

  • Asked by Patricia from Covington, Georgia
    08/21/2016
    Q
Will Demon Max eliminate millipedes outside my home?
bug company told me nothing will eliminate them just kills the one's you see, is that true for your product
    A

Demon Max is labeled for milipedes, and will eliminate the ones that are in the area currently. There are a few things that you can do to possibly stop them from coming to the area to begin with. Habitat modification is key to reducing your milipede population. Since they live in and eat organic matter, try to remove as much excess organic matter as possible like piles of weeds, leaves, etc. Over-mulching and overwatering also can create damp environments for many pests, not only millpedes. Avoid overwatering, and use rocks or other materials instead of mulch if possible. Always pick fruit and vegetables,if they are in your area, as soon as they are ripe to prevent millipedes (and other pests) from using them as a food source.
